Tix for South Hobart home games are $20 each for an Adult and $30 for a Grandstand seat, 3 game packages are $10 off the costs of 3 individual games, ie $50 and $80.Thanks for the heads up.
South Hobart's home ground is only 1.5km's away, I am definitely keen to get to their home games to support the NST concept in it's first season.
Moreton have one of the lowest wage budgets in npl qld. Real giant slayers if they get the chocolatesI probably should put this in the un-popular opinions thread but, If South doesn't win it, I am hoping that the chockies go to one of the clubs from WA, SA, QLD, ACT or TAS..... It would certainly boots the profile of the comp.
See im in 2 minds about this and ill explain:I probably should put this in the un-popular opinions thread but, If South doesn't win it, I am hoping that the chockies go to one of the clubs from WA, SA, QLD, ACT or TAS..... It would certainly boots the profile of the comp.
Brilliant, they are my second team in this comp, hoping to host them in the later rounds of the cup to return the hospitality and continue the rivalry for "South Supremacy"Tix for South Hobart home games are $20 each for an Adult and $30 for a Grandstand seat, 3 game packages are $10 off the costs of 3 individual games, ie $50 and $80.

I get your point.... a big factor in my thoughts though is that the general sporting public (not us die hards) LOVES an underdog story .. it will be broadcast ALL over Adelaide (and most of Australia) if Metrostars win for example ... thats gonna draw in next years batch of clubs to wanna participate... FA would LOVE something like that I reckon....See im in 2 minds about this and ill explain:
I want the strongest teams through, on and off the park! We have metrics to appease as we were clearly told by the FA and they wont be appeased by some fairytale story which although nice for the comp doesnt get us closer to h&a umless the only metric is full state representation (i have no confidence that the FA metrics are not contradictory between them or non pragmatic to make this not work either way).
The fairytale stories are for the AU cup this comp is the base to a h&a and we cant afford to get bogged down in it bc if this is the future i dare say it wont last beyond the 2yrs.
Normally we would be in full agreement here and i do get that point and your right to a degree.... BUT the 'general sporting public' is as much a myth as the 'mainstream' supporter that the AL was built upon and the sword its dying on still...concept of the general sporting public is even more fickle when one takes into account that it will be killed off at the first news article from baised media about a flare.. Problem remains that then the FA will have either cemented this format to our dismay leaving us few hardened disillusioned for the final.time or it will kill it off slowly but surely bc the interst from even our clubs will wane!I get your point.... a big factor in my thoughts though is that the general sporting public (not us die hards) LOVES an underdog story .. it will be broadcast ALL over Adelaide (and most of Australia) if Metrostars win for example ... thats gonna draw in next years batch of clubs to wanna participate... SBS and the Australian Championship: 20 years in the making

I think it would be better going forward if the original 6-8 teams completely dominate.I get your point.... a big factor in my thoughts though is that the general sporting public (not us die hards) LOVES an underdog story .. it will be broadcast ALL over Adelaide (and most of Australia) if Metrostars win for example ... thats gonna draw in next years batch of clubs to wanna participate... Has it been confirmed that the 8 foundation clubs are locked in for at least the first 2 seasons?I think it would be better going forward if the original 6-8 teams completely dominate.
Sets the precedent going forward, and prospective teams know whats required to compete in the 2nd division, either shape up or get out!
Then in a couple of years we can geniunely see which clubs are capable of surviving and competing on a national level. Rather than have this mickey mouse format with new teams each year etc.
Should South Hobart somehow win it, thatāll instantly be held as the most pertinent case for TAS expansion into the A-League, thatās for sure.I get your point.... a big factor in my thoughts though is that the general sporting public (not us die hards) LOVES an underdog story .. it will be broadcast ALL over Adelaide (and most of Australia) if Metrostars win for example ... thats gonna draw in next years batch of clubs to wanna participate... From what I have read they are guaranteed the first 2 years.Has it been confirmed that the 8 foundation clubs are locked in for at least the first 2 seasons?
Iām pretty sure I saw something for the next five years but FA want to have a H&A season running in two years timeFrom what I have read they are guaranteed the first 2 years.
He has been getting better and better. Really good stuff nowI enjoy this blogger, and this blog is excellent as usual

Thats exactly my point. I agree with others post about "mainstream" ignoring football of any kind, let alone NPL but the media does like a juicy David v Goliath story...Should South Hobart somehow win it, thatāll instantly be held as the most pertinent case for TAS expansion into the A-League, thatās for sure.
W/regards to @Hellenic_blue&white ās reply to you, whilst Iāve already resigned myself to the certainty of the āmainstreamā media ignoring if not champing@ the bit to deathride the Championship(even w/o any semblance of crowd-trouble), it does still stand to reason that theyāll temporarily jump on the bandwagon nonetheless - esp. if a ābroadbasedā club ends up winning the whole thing.
