Thoughts on a state of origin series played through international breaks ?

If you're running the comp during the international windows, you already have a lame duck, because states are effectively punished for developing the best players (who will be away with national sides). State of Origin should be the best of the state, not the "best we've got once the really good ones have gone away".

In other words just resurect the old concept of state teams- anyone playing the state in that season can play; hopefully the best players.
When will they fit any games into the timetable is another matter.

Or Rememberence Day? I suppose it depends on international windows. Or we could fire up an all A-League squad.
