NPL 2025

Definitely not we had a grand final on our own turf this year and Apia we know don’t have any supporters other then their sap kids the game being at parra would’ve been worse as this game drove Macedonians who don’t even watch Rockdale to go to the game being close to home

Is there a rectangular ground in (relatively central) Melbourne other than AAMI with sufficient seating (Say 8k)?

The only GF in Sydney that can get anywhere near the level that Melbourne get, would be Rockdale vs Sydney United.

No one else comes close in NSW.

100% we saw a glimpse of that in 2020 with the stupid covid restrictions whata game that was

We know Sydney Olympic v Sydney united got 10k about 10 years ago, maybe could argue they’re not in as strong a position today but I reckon for a gf on the right day, the same fixture could pull a good crowd again. Olympic/the Greek community can pull crowds for “events” ala the 4k for the pre season game v south, it’s getting those people to come week in week out that’s the problem

NPL SA- Grand Final
Metro Stars vs Croydon tonight at Gepps Cross
Croydon used to be Polonia, but they no longer have any Polish presence, either in admin or players.
Yes they do ? One of the two Australian clubs who are still a legitimate Polish club.

Even the terracing? I’ve seen it with both grand stands open for segregation purposes, never with the whole thing open, free to walk around, even behind the goals etc
No, only the stands were open, he is wrong. It also proves that the "official" crowd when South played Preston was inflated. There was at least almost double the crowd at Sunday's game with both grandstands filled at least 90% + open terraces but apparently there was only 2000 more than a game with both stands not much over half full

You and your South Melbourne supporters can. Taking credit for Heidelberg and dandy city's crowd attendance. Your home ground is the worst in the league, it's an absolute eye sore, we're going backwards if finals are played at that absolute pit of a ground. It belongs back at aami park.
I used to think this but sunday's game completely changed that. If they fully open the stadium it is elite. When you only have 1 stand open it is terrible though for sure

Hahaha... i assume all this continued commentary is based on all the fantastic matchday experinces you all have at each of your 'state of the art' NPL football stadiums that spoil you with the immersing showpieces we have seen to date? Plz tell me again which stadiums they are and how many finals have been held at any of them???

All in all, the solution remains super simple, those who dont like lakeside have the choice to stay home..

4k is definitely inflated I think it was closer to 2k

2011. Almost 11k that day at Belmore Sports Ground.

The official crowd was 8,800 odd, thats close to 3,000 more, sounds about right. The South v Preston also had a packed corporate section, this was largely closed off aside from a few club officials on Sunday.
