Your unpopular football opinion?

I think sometimes these tactical videos you see on YouTube are just some nerd looking far too deep into it.

Like when you get some film jerk going on about the hidden meaning in the framing of shots of Parasite blah blah blah - reverse analysing

Pretending pep is a next level genius. Of course the guy is smart but his greatest tactic was having Messi and letting him do basically what he wanted 😂
Yep Pep is a great coach and man manager but I reckon a tactical genius is someone who gets a club like Luton Town up 3 or 4 divisions on the trot and into the Premier League on a budget of about a quarter of the other clubs.

Or Ipswich up two divisions in two years. Same with Como in Italy who came up from Serie D to Serie A in 5 seasons.

Or a coach like Andoni Iraola who keeps little Bournemouth in the Premier League in a stadium that holds 12,000 and on a budget about a fifth of these big city clubs.

Left back is traditionally number 3

Really?! Left to right when looking up the field.

GK is 1

LB is 2?

I'm talking way back when I was early teens. It used to be.

Left wing / Inside left / Ctr forward / Inside right / Right wing

............ Left midfield / Ctr midfield / Right midfield

........................ Left back / Right back

................................... GK

What a formation.

235 holy shit dude how OLD are you??? When did you last play before the war? hahahahahahahahahaah

because they couldnt buy xavi and iniesta or busquest to sit behind him while he played whatever side of teh pitch or wherever he wanted
Actually I think national coaches are the best going with your logic. They can't buy players and can only use the players they have in their pool.

Hahaha. Now you mention it that does seem weirdly recent for such an old formation.. Maybe we were 20 years behind in country NSW of the latest tactics.

I definitely remember it though. 3 blokes at kickoff, which the ctr forward always took, and 2 wingers, so 5 across the front.

This was when I was a kid though so maybe mid to late 70s? By the time I got to the teens there were sweepers and stoppers and all of that.

Basically a 4-3-3 with advanced wing backs. I played as a keeper in this formation - could get very hairy.

Sorry, effectively as in "in essence", not necessarily as in "doing well".

Question, htf did we kick those heavy full leathered balls ? worse when in the rain and head the bloody wrecking ball hahaha
Let alone run with ankle high laced boots omg !
