I have always said this about our NT!!! My hope is that with an increase in technical skill & improved pathways etc that this will hopefully flow more into our team
 
Levante away to Elche tonight. Ryan has been keeping fit but it may be a bit early to play him.
 
A great AA start to weekend. I don't think Metcalfe will start. The others have been doing well enough but I still think Metcalfe is better.

Starting him risks taking a lot of the early physical stuff. Once they tire his freshness could be the difference. He also has a reasonable amount of high pressure experience.
 
Excellent reflex save by Maty. 6 yard box header downward in his range but getting the arm to ping the ball away was well done.
 
Metcalfe bench. Their two strikers have come from the Belgien and French Leagues from decent sized clubs. Less common St Pauli have people downgrade even with their Bundesliga status.

Metcalfe should get time later. The formation is a little awkward for him with wing backs, 2 6's and a 10. This is also without Irvine.
 
Think I'll watch Levante longer then and keep Hamburg in the background. Really like this Elche kit in white with a green chest hoop. Australia away kit with a navy hoop would be something different.

La Liga with Basketball style microphones in the technical area listening to the manager's instructions during the drinks break. I don't know if we need all this like dressing room interviews coming to the Bundesliga.
 
Elche header goal taken back. Floater into the corner that seemed a surprise given the push in the back.
 
Damn 2 quick goals past Ryan. Defence a shambles both times too. First one Ryan shifts his weight to guess the left boot will go across goal but the shot rockets way into his top right corner.

Second one is a very nicely taken roll across goal into the far corner akin to a tennis switch hit. Defence trots along and the young Elche player has hit that perfectly.
