Australian transfers 25-26 Winter

Good move for Hrustic. Relegated Serie B back to Eredivise shows how much of a joke Italian clubs are with their big benches and shabby finances. He never should've gone to Italy. The big clubs aside are just ad hoc collections of players without a plan.

Not sure if Garang Kuol is going to get a transfer this summer, he's still listed on the Newcastle United under-21s and getting game time for them but can never seem to break into the first team.
When he played for the olyroos he seemed better than players that are capable of the 2nd tiet in europe like austria or the championship. Would live him to kick start his career

Stupid long waiting by Kuol and everyone else involved. A loan should've been set up in June. I think EFL teams with space after a few matches will be an option. League 1 is absolutely fine.

Anyone seen this confirmed elsewhere.

Yeah. Walsall fans laughing why you go from Sydney to Walsall but I guess they've never been out way west.

It's an absolute coup. Hollman hasn't dropped in his level. The only thing keeping him down from dominating the league is homesickness or injury.

Another who'd probably look fine if brought into the national team.

Confirmed on the Walsall FC website. Hollman under contract through season 2026-27 with option for 2027-28, moving on a free transfer subject to EFL, FA and international clearance.
I'm disappointed.

When other Aussie players who appear to have less ability than Jake H at the stage of his career, go to the Championship, Eredivisie, Austrian Bundi, Belgium, IMO this is going to a lower standard league.

League One I would be very happy with, if, most teams play like Wrexham - technical deck football. In the past League One was mainly hoofball, second ball football, with play mostly in the transitions, or contested ball phase.

This was a decade ago, but Craig Foster wrote that often Aussie players going to Europe never ascend to a better league than the one they originally play in.

Luke Wilkshire was battling in League One a few decades back. Then Guus selected him in a Socceroo camp, and his career took off. Guus lined Luke W up for an Eredivisie career.

Harry Kewell reportedly one of the names on a 15-strong extended shortlist for the Singapore national team head coaching job. Former CCM and 2023 A-League Men's Championship-winning head coach Nick Montgomery also in the running.
Interesting, RF?

I think HK's wife still lives in England, so Kewell must be struggling for coaching jobs in the UK. Another option is to become an assistant coach - so one never feels the full blast of scrutiny.

From watching him play in the Aus U23s and the AL, I definitely think Jake H is a prospective Socceroo.

I just can't see him being selected from L 2.

Kewell hasn't had much success with head coaching roles in the English lower leagues but international management will be more of a challenge for him I think as he has no experience as a national team head coach.

It's such a conundrum of a deal for Miller. An international who's clearly rated by some going to a bigger league yet commanding a fee of only 750k which hints also at his flaws. It's a low risk bargain for Blackburn with the fee being an obvious reasoning for Blackburn fans if it doesn't work out.
