The team that started today would have lost 6-0 against this opposition a few months ago. 1st half we were excellent with Menelaou playing a blinder and Leech causing them problems between the lines. Obviously we had a very undermanned team and our levels dropped. Leech coming off for Messourouni at half time was a huge downgrade and by the time we got to the last 20-25 mins we were pretty much a youth team. Excellent result.

Was really impressed with Menelaou and Spink today, both young players and putting their bodies on the line for every challenge (something i thought Mells really lacked in his game). Heard Max had injured his hand, but not sure whether it is enough to keep him out long term. Leech continuing to build on his impressive second half of the year!
 
Good result given the circumstances. The following players were missing: Jankovic, Mikkola, Iwakami, Brennan, Lampard, and Pope.

Must say the build up for our goal was something that would never have occurred under Esteban. Literally one touch passing to move that ball up the field.

With Leech coming off, and young players like Durso and Mesourouni coming on, we just got overrun.

In the end, I think a draw was a fair result. We are now safe from relegation. Focus now is to go out and win the last 3 matches to finish the season off on a high. Priority now is to win the Dockerty Cup and try and get through the next stage of the Australia Cup.

Agree on Menelaou. He looked great and hopefully can play at the Dockerty Cup final and next round of Australia Cup.
 


Awesome watching the youth run around and NOT to be fearing a shellacking.... The season has well and truly turned around, pity its too late to make a crack at finals (we still need 1 x point from the next 3 to be 100% safe from relegation btw). Lets hope for a good Dockery6 cup final and decent Australia cup run... once thats over there is nothing else left to watch this year, the NSD abortion is going to be garbage.

Something to do with our Veo camera man and them not letting him either film or be near the sidelines
 
Gotta laugh at the heidelberg carry on over on the clubs fb page, asking for an investigation into the ref lmao. Its such a strange rivalry, they absolutely hate us but to us they will always be the little brother. You can see how much it means to them to always have to beat us.

Speaking on refs, once again we werent awarded a clear cut penalty to Nagamatsu (funny heidelberg ignores that) and it appears we will go the entire season without being awarded a penalty in all comps.

If we had heidelbergs fitness levels we would pretty much take anyone. Credit to Anastasiadis for putting the work in, its no coincidence they steamroll teams at the end of games.

From what I heard, the antics at the ground to have a South U23 coach removed because they thought he was engaged in something against rules is laughable. The second goal was a clear free kick, as the Heidelberg striker pushed the South defender into the net. You don't fall over like that without being pushed.

I'm looking forward to the Dockerty Cup final. A half strength South side stood up against Heidelberg on the weekend. Imagine we had a full-strength side. Who knows - we may get a penalty awarded to us in the Dockerty Cup final!
