Sign Up Now!Makes sense that Gungahlin Utd here didn't make it - I remember had heard something about them not having the cash for it anymore.. (or ever). Given recent things, surprising they'd want to enter into something that's supposed to be linked to promotion/relegation, qualifying on merit, and most importantly: travel.Get real. Not one club?? Just start the league with 8 then! Delays, delays. It's been eight years!
How ‘half arsed’ has the running of the A league been.If it was good enough to start with 8 in 2005 its good enough now, but they have no intention of this ever being a proper league.
That Ivkovic pleb isn’t backing down from anything he’s posted. I lowkey believe he’s just full of sh1t, but still it all makes you wonder..Foundation clubs to have automatic entry for first 5 years.
i guess the only thing that's unclear is after the 2nd year, what will be the format?

Its way too hard to take any of the sides (supposed journo's vs supposed administrators) seriously..That Ivkovic pleb isn’t backing down from anything he’s posted. I lowkey believe he’s just full of sh1t, but still it all makes you wonder..
Your ‘supposed’ administrators have done that but I doubt it will be satisfy some, it’s a case of damned if you do, damned if you don’t.Its way too hard to take any of the sides (supposed journo's vs supposed administrators) seriously..
Can all easily have been quashed with one straight forward announcement from the FA! Again they fall short fuelling the fire...
If you can tell me you have walked away from that statement with clarity, then hats off to you, bc clarity and reassurance is the last thing i get from it regarding the future of this league!Your ‘supposed’ administrators have done that but I doubt it will be satisfy some, it’s a case of damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
I don’t think FA are predicting the future of the Championship but it seems to me what they are saying is that they want this league to work and not fall in a heap because insufficient effort was put in to make it viable. If you can tell me you have walked away from that statement with clarity, then hats off to you, bc clarity and reassurance is the last thing i get from it regarding the future of this league!
Wanting it to work could easily mean a very simple and clear statement of "we have applications we are assessing thoroughly, (this they did i agree) .... and for the moment we have 8 foundations clubs that have met the criteria and done all the hard work and should be rewarded (this is evident) ... (and now this is where they fall short) so after 1 (or 2) year(s) of this temporary championship format, we will be proceeding with them for a full h&a season, including any other clubs that can meet the sustainable criteria set in place for the longevity of the competition!I don’t think FA are predicting the future of the Championship but it seems to me what they are saying is that they want this league to work and not fall in a heap because insufficient effort was put in to make it viable.
Basically what you are saying is FA have done all the right things except ( in your opinion) predict the future.Wanting it to work could easily mean a very simple and clear statement of "we have applications we are assessing thoroughly, (this they did i agree) .... and for the moment we have 8 foundations clubs that have met the criteria and done all the hard work and should be rewarded (this is evident) ... Thats all we ask.. and dont tell me thats what you got or that it doesnt do away with every stakeholders concerns?

Does this mean, for example, South Hobart, having known the exact criteria, have submitted three RFPs and each time completely misunderstood the exact criteria causing failure? The exact criteria would be in the NST RFP framework - something that would normally be between the parties involved.
Absolutely no one has even hinted forBasically what you are saying is FA have done all the right things except ( in your opinion) predict the future.
Sorry but I don’t read your comments in any other way.
Yes and No - they have passed the technical but not the financial.Does this mean, for example, South Hobart, having known the exact criteria, have submitted three RFPs and each time completely misunderstood the exact criteria causing failure?
Thank you, you have put forward the gist of this statement far more eloquently than I could have.My read
There was a report "A Genuine National Second Division of Football in Australia" by the AAFC Working Group (which I can't seem to access). In it I thought there was a commitment to a geographical spread of at least 4 states for the ongoing home and away competition. I would love to see this report again if someone can find it. There were 3 models. The one that is being used for this year and next year, a conference league and a full home and away structure (the preferred model)
1) The currently structure is in place for this year and next year - which we already knew. It meets the geographical spread criteria.
2) The FA has said that that only the existing 8 foundation clubs fit the technical and financial criteria at the moment.
3) The FA has returned the money to the foundation clubs - apparently in line with agreement
4) The FA have had a series of RFP / EOI rounds where other clubs outside the existing two states have tried to meet the criteria.
These clubs seem to have been included in the last round
Adelaide City FC
Caroline Springs George Cross FC
Gold Coast United FC
Gungahlin United FC
South Hobart FC
Sunshine Coast Fire
In summary we are two years away from a full home and away, exactly like we were before this latest flurry of rumours. The only extra bit that can be said is that the FA said "At the conclusion of this process, Football Australia did not receive any fully compliant bid proposals but was encouraged with the prospect that additional clubs may be in a stronger position to join in the future".
The FA and the clubs seem to be working towards a timetable for home and away by 2027. We still haven't had the 2025 version. The commentary reminds me of Sky After Dark commentary saying the Government must do this and must tell us what is going to happen in every part of the world.
The facts will never be enough.Absolutely no one has even hinted for
them to predict the future though - and i strugfle to see how you grt to that from what i wrote!!
For you, the secrecy, the half truths, the changes etc etc are all ok, for me and others though it is not (and we have explained why this is the case numeorus times)... They have more than fallen short by not announcing the h&a format with the 8 foundation clubs (if need be alone)! What i see is that they are looking to maintain an out and everything they say is just words unless we get the blueprint!
Ill remain a sceptic thanks, bc my history and interaction with them through my club is one of distrust with very good reason thus wont allow for anything else!
