Arnie was interviewed & said that he met Volpato in Italy and he verbally agreed to play for us, only for him to backflip a week later. I suspect that his Italian agent talked him out of it, but that at least showed a desire to play for Australia. So you never know

So glad this never eventuated as it seemed like he was going to be fast tracked in for the 2022 World Cup. Knowing what we know now he was and still is undeserving.
 
A-league star Marco Tilio's transfer from Celtic to Rapid Vienna has been delayed due to his outstanding performances in preseason.
