It also helps that they have been fairly consistently competitive for the last decade. They are not a top 3 team (but not far off), and are consistently a top 6 team. When they do make finals they typically make it to the semis. A couple of rubbish seasons for sure, but they always bounce back the following season.
  • 13/14 - 6th (knocked out in elim final)
  • 14/15 - 3rd (knocked out in semi final)
  • 15/16 - Premiers + Champions
  • 16/17 - 9th
  • 17/18 - 5th (knocked out in elim final)
  • 18/19 - 4th (knocked out in semi final)
  • 19/20 - 7th (only 2 points behind 6th)
  • 20/21 - 5th (knocked out in semi final)
  • 21/22 - 4th (knocked out in semi final)
  • 22/23 - 3rd (knocked out in semi final)
  • 23/24 - 8th
  • 24/25 - Currently 1st with two games in hand

They are the absolute blueprint for other Australian clubs coming into the league.

For their games at Mcdonald Jones, Newcastle are also trending in the right direction, which is positive.
