Disappointing Circati and Irankunda aren't starting.
I think Herrington and Circati being brought on for a decent period shows their value for the club. Starts are the best step. Irankunda still comes across as a bit of a pawn.

The trouble in Portugal is the starts might come in the league against the mediocre sides and while you need to perform well against them, it's not as high as the standard just left.

Nestory Irankunda has also had problems with discipline during his time in the English league system which Sporting CP may be wary of though.
If that's the case then they likely wouldn't have signed him or he could be out of the club within 18 months. They're just easing him in but if a world cup scorer can't establish himself in Portugal then what is a world cup goal worth?

Sporting CP signed Nestory Irankunda because he has heaps of potential and it's still early days so he'll have plenty of time to establish himself and get consistent game time across Liga Portugal, domestic cups and a Champions League campaign this year.

Irankunda understandable. Not a lot of goal involvements ladt year to justify a step up. Hopefully enough minutes to develop tho

On the contrary, its actually the other way around.. look at the names Circati is competing against. Center backs are Lenglet and Araujo. Both internationals with France and Portugal.

Meanwhile Irankunda is only competing with 19 yr old Flavio Goncalves whose come straight in from the B team, only played 5 matches for the 1st team and is nowhere near as physically developed as Nestory.

I think both clubs are giving them time to settle in. The great thing about such big clubs is that they will play lots of games and because they are playing in europe, they will rotate a lot when they play against their weak league opposition.

The LB maximiliano Araujo seems to provide of a lot of the width and attacking. The LW in turn ends up becoming an AM/inside forward or having to run beyond the CF to be a support striker. Should actually suit Irankunda

Luis Suarez, good player.

No where near the pace and power of Gyokeres but very smart and skillful striker who plays as a false 9 like a Sheringham or harry kane. Likes to drop deep and get imvolved with buildup. Again should work well with Nestory, who can make runs beyond him from LW ala Kane and Son. I think Nestory will really suit this team stylistically.

Played in again down the left this time with great sight at goal. Slips again and skys over. Should have at least got on target.

Shakes head in disgust

No game time for Kasey Bos, who was an unused substitute for Excelsior in their 3-0 Eredivisie win over Willem II.
