The Australian Championship šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗšŸ†

So the fucking ridiculous shootout is confirmed?
If it is, and I don’t doubt it for a second, then it shows that we will NEVER have proper football in this country.

They will continue with their stupid franchise system, and they will hand out a licence to Canberra who can’t even afford one.

Did anyone not know that this abomination was tried in 1994/1995?!

This is one situation where the fans can unite and just depart the ground or protest after the 90 minutes. With hiwls of ā€˜what a load of rubbish!’ Won’t look good on tv!

We can’t trust the clubs to unite on this, because they will have FA’s gun to their heads.

Saw on that suited and booted show the other week Rashid Mahazi, a retired professional footballer who played in the a league, and who’s job it is now to cover the game, only just learned that the nsl once had a conference system ..completely new information to him lol. The fact you weren’t around for it isn’t an excuse, how can you not even be aware that that happened. And these are the football people

Those people on that show are just clueless. Absolutely no knowledge of Australian Soccer before the A League

Not to mention Rashid and JBD have both played NPL level and still talk about clubs having "owners"....

Do you think the new dawn crowds that show up in Summer are going to leave if there is a " penalty shootout thingy like Messy and Rolando during the World Cup" ? They will eat it up.

Have said before, but you can just tell that they don’t care to understand the difference in context between different npl clubs. Ie South Melbourne and oakleigh aren’t just ā€œGreek npl teamsā€. They may be playing in the same comp right now, but the back story of how they got there is completely different and that context matters. These don’t have the attention to detail in that regard . And that’s based on personal experience, I’ve crossed paths with him years ago before him a league days

Again, anyone who’s been around the game know these types, there’s people who know a lot of about the playing of the game, what boots each player wears at the top level etc but don’t know anything about the clubs or their histories etc. many different manifestations of football fandom

I just find their knowledge of NPL to be really shallow and missing a great deal of insight and the nuance of the NPL competition. Not my cup of tea but they must appeal to a demographic that watches them.
