Do many Hellas blokes on here reckon south will get many away at Sutherland? Would assume Sydney united will be the main Sydney away day this year. Unique little game that’ll be. I’d say high chance it’s the first time the two clubs have ever played. You’d not have thought Sutherland were heading in this direction the way they held onto their npl 1 status by the skin of their teeth for multiple years this decade, but good on em for what they’ve been able to achieve

If we were in that group instead of Sutherland would’ve been some interesting games not taking anything anyway from Sutherland and what they’ve done

Good on em, as i say, fairly unique club in that they’re one of those few survivors at a state league level who pre date the post ww2 migration boom and who probably have growth potential with the ambition they’ve been showing of late.

Again, for Melbourne people imagine if Frankston pines had a history dating back 100 years and a good little facility and we’re showing ambition as a club/ going out of their way to lean into local pride and engage the local ”franga” community

That makes perfect sense to us down here. Appreciate the context @Glenardo !

For many of us, travelling to Edensor Park would be the pick of the away matches. If we played Sydney Croatia on a Friday night or over the weekend, you would see at least 150 South fans travel easily.

Definitely will do my best to support the comp and make that Sydney united v South Melbourne match. Should be a great day for the comp and the idea of an nsd. These are the sorts of fixtures everyone wants, and the only thing the powers that be understand are numbers

As a South supporter, we have NO option to watch other Melbourne matches.

Fuck Avondale
Fuck Oakleigh
And no way I will attend a Preston match unless my work friend wants to go

Last year I attended a couple of Heidelberg matches

Preston dont NEED our support to attract a crowd and I would be quite pleased if both Oakleigh and Avondale fold as clubs anyway so best if they remain ghost towns

It’s great to see that the kick offs times are being improved. Thursday and Friday night kick offs will be great during the warmer months. Glad to see the back of Saturday and Sunday 1pm kick offs times. Hopefully a few of the Saturday fixtures can be played at 7.30pm.

Two matches live on SBS TV (Thursday night and Saturday afternoon) will be more than than what the A League gets !

Looking forward to this year’s edition.
