Re kogarah, will be interesting to see, but I’d imagine once the Leichhardt redevelopment is done kogarah might host notably fewer football fixtures like this as Leichhardt will be an objectively superior and more suitable venue by most metrics ..aside from maybe public transport access inferior
 
It is the negative side of having a professional sport.

For the losing teams it always sucks.

For the individual player it is a fantastic opportunity.

We see it in every league the world over - unless you are the pinnacle league, players and coaching staff will move up when they can.

Loyalty is important to fans but largely meaningless to a professional athlete with a limited career span.

If we want the sport to be quality we have to accept the trade offs for our teams - but we can still choose to hate players and staff who leave partway through a season, competition, or dynasty if we want to.

Teams from Asia used to buy up their opponents players before AFC started seemingly so they weren't available to oppose them.

It is what it is and most clubs dont stand in the way of players getting a chance to have a pro career. It would be fairer though if we had an in place domestic transfer system that would allow these NPL clubs to make a bit of money to compensate them AND also have a synced transfer window so that losing a player like Sawyer or Deng doesn't just Kill your finals hopes completely...

Harry scored in, I think, every qyalifying match for the Aus Cup that year, scored our QF match against Hume and then, sat on the stands watching his new club beat us by a dodgy penalty in the Semi final because we didnt have a #9 to ping balls into the box like we had been doing all season prior...

Happy how it turned out for Harry and his career... but heartbreaking for us.

People keep saying this but didn't this change in 2024?
Or am I completely misunderstanding the DTS changes below?

Do you ever agree with me? 😅 I'm arguing for npl fans and bashing the a league and you still disagree lol

Its happened too often now with the npl teams that a key piece goes missing before the big ones.

I mean it happens to ALM clubs too. How many times have the Mariners been gutted in the January transfer window, or clubs missing key players in finals because of National team duty.

It's an unfortunate fact of life when you aren't on top of the footballing food chain.
