Any evidence to support your assumption that these boys:
1) mooch of the system
Being developed in Australian academies, benefiting from welfare and our public education and healthcare systems is living off our system. If you don’t have Australian values or see yourself as Australian then that’s rorting our system when there’s other people who need it more.
2) Don't acknowledge they lived in Australia
I’m sure they acknowledge they live here but they don’t seem to care about being Aussie. In their eyes, it seems they believe they live here but are foreigners. In that case they’re essentially expats.
Obviously they speak English. Actually, I don’t even know if they speak their own native languages. There’s a good chance they’re Eurosnobs who know little about their culture but solely identify with it.
4) Refused to integrate with Australian culture
My point was in reference to a small but vocal minority in general, rather than them. I used Spain as an example because they were in the news recently after Moroccans tried to essentially invade Ceuta. Achraf Hakimi (an accused rapist being defended by several Morocco teammates by the way) doesn’t consider himself Spanish, though he does speak the language. Interestingly he lost the French language (which is widely spoken by educated Moroccans) as a result of his family moving to Spain, but learnt it at PSG.
(whatever it is that you think THAT is in a society made up of hundreds of differing cultures - not everyone wears thongs, drinks VB and beats their wife)
You can simultaneously have Australian culture and your own, but you must share our values. Don’t disrespect us and we won’t disrespect you. If you’re fine with covering your knees in a mosque then why aren’t you fine with not judging Australians or not committing crimes here?
Violence against women is actually less common in Australia than almost any other country. Even our next door neighbours PNG have a catastrophically higher rate (50-70% of Papuan women will be assaulted and/or raped during their lifetime).
5) Don't eat Australian food (again see racist bullshit above)
It’s really not racist or even against multiculturalism. I just think they should embrace Australia as much if not more than their ethnic background.
6) Refuse to care about Australia or disrespect it in anyway (apart from playing for underage Aussie teams that is)
If they had the choice to play internationals then of course they’d take it but as soon as the more successful European nations came along they left us, a country with a limited pool of players, for those countries, many of which have world-class football academies that could create several generations of world-class and other great players.
Your so convinced you can know what is going in on these kids minds, why? Because you saw it on Instagram or some influencer told you so?
No, I’m just sick of people born and raised here refusing to accept this country but then getting a pass for being millionaires and celebrities. There are genuine ordinary people in this country struggling under this government and yet our tax dollars are supporting clowns like them who don’t even care about Australia.
I’m also sick of talented players abusing our system only to reject us whilst our game is still crying out for investment and support. If we can create the best cricket team in the world then there’s nothing stopping us from trying to create a talented soccer team.
