Sign Up Now!I thought the WA and SA clubs had to be in the same group?
Surely Concord Oval would be the best option? (for daytime matches atm until the night lights are installed)Still very interested to see where APIA play while Leichhardt is being redeveloped.
If I can offer my free advice to anyone of influence who may or may not read this forum; please do not attempt to play out of kogarah, it wonāt work and the crowds wonāt follow you across to that venue. Leichhardt works because the club has a historic connection to it and itās within the clubs traditional heartland.
If they stuff up this call it could hurt the momentum the club had built in recent years in the same way playing out of Olympic park for a couple of years hurt the wanderers
What an absolute jokei will bet you my bottom dollar that's the groups.
Preston Avoids all greek teams and Sydney United
Sydney United avoids all Melbourne teams.
its the perfect FA draw.
They just make up the rules as they go, mate. Who really knows wtf they'll do hahaI thought the WA and SA clubs had to be in the same group?
If we add Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart, and another Melbourne team to make 12, my costs are still under $600k.

The resulting estimate is approximately $652,000 for flights and accommodation, with a prudent upper budget of approximately $715,000ā$720,000.
All football australia travel is through the company stage and screen so would be very different to what you could get estimating costs by looking at flights and accommodation. If u have a travel agency at work, costing through that might be more ball parkSo that number above is what I ended up with after manually going through flights and accommodation for the various routes, you can imagine it took a while.
Just now I have created a full mock 12 team fixture like so:
View attachment 9073
and used that to ask AI what the season budget would be, with various prompts. Well blow me down, this was it's response:
Pretty damn close to my number! I'd say the extra $100k gap might be the difference between this totally random fixture and actually making the fixture as cost efficient as possible.
So that works out to a cost of $45-60k per club, or $4000-5500 per match. At $20 a ticket, we would need 200-275 extra patrons per match to cover that.
SURELY the clubs can get that boost from a national comp? And SURELY FA can pull their finger out and cover $700k a year ffs!

It would be interesting to know how much stage and screen charge and whether it is more expensive than just buying the trips themselves? (Well cheaper or more expensive, but the cynic in me expects stage and screen to make costs balloon)Yeah corporate/partner pricing would be cheaper still, but then you add the hefty costs of S&S. If FA want to pay through the nose for that good luck to them. I reckon the clubs plan it themselves, take on this travel costs and get the thing started next year.
Interesting how this potential leak has now completely overshadowed the days earlier leak about the comp potentially going to a home and away league in 27āSo we are all just making up groups atm?
We better not get fucking Oakleigh!!!
Itās like Christmas morning!!Interesting how this potential leak has now completely overshadowed the days earlier leak about the comp potentially going to a home and away league in 27ā
Big day for championship news. After months of nothing, on the same day we get 2 potential major tidbits. When it rains it pours
I want to be optimistic but what is the 2027 h and a leak based on?Interesting how this potential leak has now completely overshadowed the days earlier leak about the comp potentially going to a home and away league in 27ā

Word of mouth if weāre honest. Alleged leaks from club officials claiming that itās under discussion. Although multiple sources, still a hefty grain of salt required imoI want to be optimistic but what is the 2027 h and a leak based on?
It is true the format is renegotiated at the end of this year but is there any reason for this optimism beyond that?
Curious who the sources are. Close to the clubs or close to the fa?Word of mouth if weāre honest. Alleged leaks from club officials claiming that itās under discussion. Although multiple sources, still a hefty grain of salt required imo
The sources quoted are at foundation clubs i believe. Again, no idea re veracity of the claimsCurious who the sources are. Close to the clubs or close to the fa?
I believe there needs to be 2 new clubs outside qld and nsw that feel ready to go
Again, refuse to believe that cb smith, avengers park or whatever they call the Reggio Calabria club, lions stadium or even oakleighs ground as it was previously are up to hosting football on the national stage but lambert park isnt. Australia cup games have been played there in the pastSurely Concord Oval would be the best option? (for daytime matches atm until the night lights are installed)
If the clubs are optimistic they would be in a better position to know than me.The sources quoted are at foundation clubs i believe. Again, no idea re veracity of the claims
Yep. Allegedly at the South Melbourne agm recently they didnāt share that optimism. But maybe thatās due to it being a formal setting and the NDAs, which are a different matter to off the record discussions among friendsIf the clubs are optimistic they would be in a better position to know than me.
I'm hearing pretty contradictory rumours to be honest
I asked a question to Peter Tsekenis for the NPL preview podcast about going to H&A and he said the (foundation) clubs were keen to make it happen but they needed to work out if academy teams would be playing in their respective NPLās, and if so, how transfer fees between their academy clubs and A-League clubs would work given the ridiculous ban on domestic transfers. The sources quoted are at foundation clubs i believe. Again, no idea re veracity of the claims
