Kingborough Lions 3 Launceston City 0

Preliminary final schedule:
South Hobart v Kingborough Lions at Darcy Street

Post NSL just once in 2012. It was my first year back supporting South Melbourne, and I felt it was where Alexandros was heading. To becoming a second string club.

But they bounced back immediately! Notwithstanding the opening round 6 nil thumping they copped from us in 2014, they ended up third.
It was during this period that they weren’t paying players, someone senior at the club at the time told me as such. Ground was run down like you wouldn’t believe, crowds were down to a similar “15 papous” type situation, plus the snake wrangler. Fast forward to 2025 they’re in the oz cup final. It can happen, this is why I wont write off Olympic as a club

Broadmeadow Magic v Weston Bears

Its sad to see a traditional club like Sydney Olympic go down. Hope they come straight back up.

Fuck these association clubs like Blacktown Spartans.
Hope St George beat another association club in Northern Tigers
I’m not gonna claim Olympic can be getting support like united do any time soon, but I still think they’re capable of bare minimum Heidelberg style support if they can turn things around

Biggest spenders in the league, anything less would have been a fail.
Apologies, I believe you said it it other day, what is the claimed new budget you heard at Marconi? Somewhat in line with united?

Have made sure to reach out to the club and reaffirm the importance that they continue to sensibly invest in the npl

I heard around 400k. I might be wrong.

How does that compare to other clubs in the league ? Marconi probably also do have one if the stronger youth set ups to draw from, potentially also the carrot of the championship to keep players at the club
I only know ours and St George. St George is just over $500k. The rest are all rumours.

Your budget is getting slashed by 200k to 300k. So it will bring you more inline with United, we are around $500k
