Ballymore Stadium in Brisbane getting a redevelopment and surrounding infrastructure.

Yet the Queensland Government refuses to redevelop Perry Park into a boutique 10,000 capacity purpose built stadium for football.
Would this be an option for Brisbane roar to play out of? more appropriately sized than Suncorp

More than likely the main grandstand was there first then the bits to the left and the right of it came later.

Just like when the dumb Croats built the Boka Grandstand in the 70s facing the wrong way so half the pitch next to the dugout doesn't get sun, built the sides of the stadium on foundation when it needed concrete piers, not to mention fuck all grandstand cover.

But i wouldn't change it for the world

I’ll stick my neck out, just as an observer, yes there is truth to the stereotype that Sydney fc do have a notable eastern eastern suburbs, left wing/progressive following. But they have also developed a “grittier” element too particularly in the last decade or so since the wanderers were born and they were forced to develop some street smarts. I wouldn’t underestimate their potential to cause trouble on their day, they’ve been involved in their fair share of incidents over the years.

they were ok around the 2017 era, when they had some english lads around. I recall a fight at Lambert Park with them.

These days looks like it's a lot of kids.

95% of the Coveites are still at school FFS.

In twenty seasons i have yet to see ANY violence at any home game.

What goes on outside the footprint of the stadium is not football related, but society releated.

Haven’t been to a Sydney fc game for a couple of years apart from the sydney united v Sydney fc one, so others would know better the current state of play.

Ballymore is not simple to get to and certainly nothing like the perfect placement of Perry Park (which is diagonally across the road from the railway station).

We tried playing some games out of Ballymore a few seasons back and it was not a success.

I think we also had trouble with the pitch being too hard and getting a lot of soft tissue injuries through training there - but that may be rumours and false memories.

We also have some unpleasant financial history with QRU from a few seasons back (disputes over unpaid bills) so to be their tenant again and subject to when they wanted to use the ground could be ugly.

It is just a shame that the perfect pitch to upgrade for football in Brisbane would be used to play football so there is bugger all chance of it happening.

FFS. I looked up the meaning of biscuit tin in Scottish and it means biscuit tin.

I didn't really though.

Um I think old mate is talking about another kind of fun with young boys? Im a little concerned that he keeps insisting I try it as well :confused:
Lighten the fuck up, young boys having fun, maybe ty it yourself sometime.

I had heard that what Zidane could do with his balls, Maradona had to do with an orange.

I'm sure it was something like that anyway.

I was tempted to spell Maradona with two Ns as well. Does that make me a bad person?

Eh, you're a Roar supporter, always desperately, seeking something

I think the plan is to play Olympic hockey at Ballymore. Temporary artificial pitches will be needed, but I think this is the plan. At it was the plan at some stage, who knows with the dogs breakfast that the Brisbane Olympic games facilities planning is.

Edit: Just checked, and hockey is now slated to be played at the Gold Coast in the 2032 Olympics.
