The Lisbon Derby (Benfica vs Sporting CP) is going to be crazy with Irankunda vs Circati.

I wonder what fee Circati will sell for? Recent rumours valued him quite highly.

Yeah it's tough. Benfica is at a higher level, so presumably internally it's better training, coaching and therefore playing. European football, big pay-rise and probably more eyes on him to take a bigger step in the future.

But established at Parma, better league quality, speaks the language, has captained the side, family history with Parma, guaranteed starter and is good access point to launch into a bigger Italian club in the future.

It's 50/50 at best. If he think's it's the best move for his career, then I can't fault him for it.

German transfermarkt thread saying Velupillay in in talks with Vietnamese clubs. Wouldn't think so!

Would rather metcalf stay put. I think he is a fringe big 5 quality player. Needs to be a much better goal scorer to play for a better team as an attacker or be better at progression if a mid

LOL ... By that logic we'd never see a new player in the premier league. It'd just be the same guys running around til theyre 80 yrs old 😅🤣

Very underwhelmimg fee compared to what was being bandied about.

Little underwhelming move too compared to the other clubs that were mooted. Whilst a big 3 club, Benfica have been behind the other 2 in recent yrs. Porto had a revival last season and won the league, and for 3 of the 4 seasons before that Sporting were champions, and made UCL qtrs last season.

Benfica will play Europa league this season. They’ve generally been the bridesmaid of the league in recent times but it’s a better run club than Parma.

Parma are in trouble with Suzuki leaving. They’re bottom half of the table fodder. Who knows what happens to them this season.

Ale is a better player than Lenglet in my opinion so there’s a good chance he’ll slot right in.
