Golden Boot Race - Aussies Abroad

I think you need to check out some of his goals. There also isn't much time before the Asian Cup to try out some other players.
The goal was nice enough. Good touch and turn with his body weight going the other way. But hardly Puskas territory.

We're not trying out other players for the AC. It will be largely the same squad that went to the world cup. The Brazil matches will be small adjustments and trying to improve what he has already been doing.

For new guys coming in, they will either need to bang down the door with performances (maybe Younis if he manages his MC form for Brondby), or some exceptional talent emerges (ala Okon). But we are far more likely to see guys like Boyle, Rowles come back into consideration because Popa will be trying to win the thing.

Find me any other player for Australia who has scored a goal like that. Most would take a touch and be off balance. I think only Toure and Irankunda can do it on a good day. We punished ourselves at the world cup with a lack of scorers so Dukuly and definitely Younis need to enter the frame.

Popovic probably has a narrow selection pool now after all those test windows but I wouldn't put it past him trying a couple more.

It is a highlight reel only. Until he turns the highlight into consistent production. Even then you can't neglect the other aspects of the game which cannot be shown in highlights.

This was last season in Aliga. 2 goals in 25 games. This isn't a goal scorer at this stage of his development.

The same could be said about Volpato. He makes basic errors and isn't exactly getting runs on the board just yet. Chance creation is there so we should see more.

Tell that to Popovic who goes off vibes. That 7+ rating is at least positive. He's got time and room to grow.

He

Scored yesterday too, right? Possible footage of that would be great.
Yeah I’ve been pretty slack I can’t lie. I even reposted that from another sub cause I was that lazy.

I’ll do it now if I can find it.

I have no problem with Rowles. The unluckiest player to miss out on the WC.
