Sign Up Now!the missing quality and precision of Mikkola and Lampard is showing, Cox is a good intro player off the bench and can make a difference but he needs way too many opportunities to get crosses pinpoint as opposed to those 2.Its incredible that one of the few things we were good at the past half decade (set pieces) is now our glaring weakness. 23 corners and not one troubled them, meanwhile i think they had 3 in extra time and pretty much put 2 open headers wide.
FA will be praying for Preston to get thru on Wednesday night...the missing quality and precision of Mikkola and Lampard is showing, Cox is a good intro player off the bench and can make a difference but he needs way too many opportunities to get crosses pinpoint as opposed to those 2.
The ratio is not in his favour as we saw last night. Different side altogether when they are back, fit and game ready, and more accurate serveceability to Juach both through open play and set pieces imo.
The only shame is im hearing chatter from Preston they may request no away fans to this one!FA will be praying for Preston to get thru on Wednesday night...
Don't think so...I attended Saturday's game as a neutral and credit to them they were church mice...even their President had a moment with Heidelberg's President with a hug post trophy celebration. Believe it or not Preston's Marshals were pointing out trouble makers who managed to sneak into the game but they were quickly escorted out by security. The only shame is im hearing chatter from Preston they may request no away fans to this one!
The FA would never allow this. South will get a thousand tickets. The only shame is im hearing chatter from Preston they may request no away fans to this one!
Fake news mate, we want you there, show the FA, FV and A-League what a proper rivalry and derby is.The only shame is im hearing chatter from Preston they may request no away fans to this one!
There are plenty of us South fans that want to be there ! These are the matches that make following your club special.Fake news mate, we want you there, show the FA, FV and A-League what a proper rivalry and derby is.
Behaviour isn't an issue with the rest of us 99% now that we've eradicated PB. Fingers crossed for a massive quarter final.
I reckon a lot of neutrals will get around it too considering where our ground is located, hopefully its during the evening but I have my doubts about that. There are plenty of us South fans that want to be there ! These are the matches that make following your club special.
Will get pretty close to sell out I reckon...I reckon a lot of neutrals will get around it too considering where our ground is located, hopefully its during the evening but I have my doubts about that.
Guaranteed to be Tuesday or Wednesdsy night next week. No day timeslot available for this as both clubs play on the weekend. This isnt a football vic fixture so the no night time rule doesnt apply.I reckon a lot of neutrals will get around it too considering where our ground is located, hopefully its during the evening but I have my doubts about that.
Suits me just fineGuaranteed to be Tuesday or Wednesdsy night next week. No day timeslot available for this as both clubs play on the weekend. This isnt a football vic fixture so the no night time rule doesnt apply.
I reckon we will sell out the section allocated to South supporters at BT Connor Reserve if Preston knocks out Brunswick Juve. The atmosphere will be great. The FA would never allow this. South will get a thousand tickets.
Totally agree. We are missing the quality of Mikkola and Lampard in the starting XI. It provides Sinisa with more attacking options if the match is deadlocked or we are chasing a result.the missing quality and precision of Mikkola and Lampard is showing, Cox is a good intro player off the bench and can make a difference but he needs way too many opportunities to get crosses pinpoint as opposed to those 2.

Youve gotta stumble sometimes.. thats football. I think Freo played their way into the match just fine.. Their plan was fairly rudimentary but it caught us on the hop 3 times, and almost scored the same way twice in ET... I put it down to not being used to playign against teams that are willing to give up so much of the ball to us and JUST hit on the counter.Last night's match was just wild.
We literally nearly threw away a quarter final spot against a Fremantle City team that was just happy to make it to the Round of 16.
I thought we were pretty good for the first 30 minutes of the first half, and probably should have scored another goal as well. And then Charlston decided to have the worst match of his career by gifting Fremantle 3 goals. The first was a stupid and clumsy foul on the Fremantle player, the second he was caught in no mans land completely missed time his run out, and for the third goal he simply froze and didn't know whether to come out or stay back and literally allowed himself to be caught off his line.
The match should never have gone to extra time, as we had multiple scoring opportunities to win it within 90 minutes. The longer the match went on, the more confidence the Fremantle players had. They nearly even pinched it in the end as well.
Charlston then redeemed himself by pulling off 3 penalty saves. They were terrible penalty kicks, but that it did not matter. Just glad to get the win and move onto the quarter finals.
