NPL 2026

Been a bit of a yo-yo club for years have they not. Good example of the notion that not all “ex nsl clubs” are created equal
Not at all, last time they were outside of the top tier in Victoria is when they were in the nsl. Have probably spent the most years in top tier of Victoria of any club (I assume South and Heidelberg would be more if you thrown in nsl years as well)

I just can’t get my head around association clubs.
To me - only works well for non-metro areas. In fact, even then the only kind of ok run that made sense is Wagga City Wanderers (which only fell apart due to Capital Football bullshit). Riverina Rhinos (Griffith association club) worked, until it didn't - which I am attributing solely to intra-club politics back home because some clubs thought others were getting preference for facilities, players, etc.

midweek round 7 catch up result:
Brindabella Blues 2 Queanbeyan City 0

NPL ACT round 19 results:
Canberra Olympic 1 Tuggeranong United 2
Queanbeyan City 3 Brindabella Blues 0
Belconnen United 0 Cooma Tigers 1
Monaro Panthers 1 O'Connor Knights 1
Canberra Croatia 4 Canberra Juventus 0
BYE Canberra White Eagles

midweek round 16 catch up fixture:
Wednesday August 5th 7.30pm Queanbeyan City v Tuggeranong United

round 20 schedule,
Saturday August 8th 2.30pm Canberra Olympic v Cooma Tigers
Saturday August 8th 3.00pm Brindabella Blues v Tuggeranong United
Saturday August 8th 5.30pm Canberra Croatia v O'Connor Knights
Saturday August 8th 5.45pm Monaro Panthers v Belconnen United
Sunday August 9th 3.00pm Canberra Juventus v Canberra White Eagles
BYE Queanbeyan City
That mid-week game is a big win for Brindabella. Not that it changes much in the table, but to get a point against a team not in the bottom 4 is pretty big for them.

well that's embarrassing, never think i've seen that before in NPL.
Mount Druitt did that a few years ago when they were in the cup. Pushed all their 20's up to firsts so they could rest them
Not NPL, but did happen to Yoogali in reverse in the 2nd div in Canberra a few years back. Essentially, the other team's 23s were in contention for finals, and the bulk of Yoogali's first grade team were under 23 at that point - so the other team didn't inform Yoogali + Capital Football that they were forfeiting the first grade game until AFTER the 23's game had finished, so that Yoogali wouldn't play their eligible U23 players from first grade in the U23 match

Maybe I’m thinking of George cross

I’ve heard during the season that Tseka has been contacting other clubs. Probably going to Bankstown.
Oh well, as I say, not a fan of his playing style, but no doubt he’s been a good servant of the club, helped rebuild etc hopefully the bloke who takes over is of decent pedigree. Seems like a lot of the player core are quite loyal to him, so maybe there will be a changing of the guard etc. again, might explain the change in on field fortunes. The main thing he seems to prioritise as a manager is “hard work” “get stuck in” “win the 50-50s” “win every on field battle” and if that’s starting to dwindle there’s not much else to fall back on

There were strong rumours that Sergio Malfara was taking over before he was confirmed that Sydney. Did you hear that?
