i didn't include memeti and kutleshi bc they have only ever played for australia. shimokawa is a tall, left-footed ball-playing centre-back. i could also include preston fava who is a very talented left backWhat do you like about Shimokawa?
I like Memeti and Kutleshi.
That worries me. Segecic and Triantis only ever played for Australia until they didn't. We're in a fight for players from our diaspora from smaller European nations. I'm keen to see us more strategically lock down our dual nationals.i didn't include memeti and kutleshi bc they have only ever played for australia. shimokawa is a tall, left-footed ball-playing centre-back. i could also include preston fava who is a very talented left back
One more game will cap-tie him to Indonesia is my understanding nowMitch Baker started and played 81 minutes for Indonesia in their 3-0 ASEAN Championship group A loss to Vietnam before being subbed off.
Mitch Baker will be locked in to Indonesia if he starts or gets at least a minute's worth of game time from the bench on Friday in their ASEAN Championship game on the road against Singapore. One more game will cap-tie him to Indonesia is my understanding now

This is where Tony Popovic needs to ensure he builds a strong, positive culture in camp that keeps players eager to commit. This is the most excited I’ve been about the national team since 2006. If Popovic continues to give youth a genuine chance and maintains a great environment, there's every reason to believe more dual nationals will choose to represent Australia.
However, a clear concern is losing players like Triantis and Segacic after they've already spent time in camp. Hopefully, Popovic learns from these situations—and given how Cristian Volpato’s switch was handled ahead of the World Cup, he just might have.
Yeah I agree. It's hard to get a full picture from the outside but I suspect we weren't as good at the bolded as we needed to be.How hard can you go, though? For most players it's a question of the heart or one where they assess which option provides the most opportunity. Push too hard and you can lose them. Provide false hope and you hurt the broader pool.
The only ethical way I can see is to make the NT set up as professional, successful, nurturing and healthy as it can be. Demonstrate that this is where you want to be, not where you are locked in to.
I know he is in a strange place in club land but i reckon we could regret losing himMitch Baker starts for Indonesia in their last ASEAN Championship group A game against Singapore and is now locked in to the Indonesian federation.
Personally I disagree. If the Socceroos are to be strong then surely a kid on City’s bench isn’t what we need. Even Lyndon Dykes wouldn’t start for us anymore (though he could’ve been a squad player).I know he is in a strange place in club land but i reckon we could regret losing him

Mitch Baker definitely has potential and is a proven goalscorer at international level but to be fair he's blanked in score involvements in his past two matches.I think he has a high ceiling
