I can't see us embarrassing Olympic.

We have a youthful side (a fair representation of our senior side most likely) who have not been tested at any serious level since we went through a major rebuild.

Tate Russell is cup tied from Wollongong Wolves earlier in the Cup, so one of our few more experienced players in a key 'gateway to goals' position is out.

I can see a stout and capable Olympic side legally pushing our younger players around a lot and it will be really interesting to me to see how we are shaping up and how we handle senior physicality.

Really excited to see us play a competitive match.

The odds are against us. Football logic dictates this should be a tough match but Adelaide has the quality to prevail. This will be the last hard hit out for Adelaide United before its AFC Champions League match at Hindmarsh Stadium next week.

If there ever was a time to defeat Adelaide United, tonight is that time as they are still in preseason mode. We need our defence to absorb an enormous amount of pressure and our midfield needs to provide sufficient coverage to the defensive line. Players such as Uchida and Yoo need to create real headaches for the Adelaide defence, and Juach must score.

A win tonight would be one for the ages and revenge after what happened in our last NSL match.

As has been noted before, credit to them, Adelaide are probably one of the a league clubs who have traditionally given the cup it’s due

Sydney Olympic v Brisbane is at Belmore. Apparently the pitch isn’t in great condition. Maybe that’ll be a leveller and help Olympic. Will be interesting to see how many people turn out. You’d think over a thousand would be a win for them given the current state of the club

On this, they had ~3,500 for Sydney Olympic v Sydney fc in the pouring rain during Covid in 2021, although that would have been a mix of fans from both clubs and Olympic were in a better place as a club. Fairly nice day here today so that shouldn’t be an excuse.
