First of all you used delisted, now for some reason you think cull is an appropriate word. Can’t you just say released, or not re-signed.

It's to be expected given that Western Sydney Wanderers are in a rebuilding phase and will be carrying out a full overhaul of their playing list after winning the spoon in both the A-League Men and Dub this past season.

Good lord, I am getting old. I recall sitting at Suncorp with just 5000 people watching a 19 year old Leckie score against the Roar in a 1-1 draw that was the first of Brisbane's extraordinary unbeaten run under Ange P. And now here is Leckie, yet another player pushing on beyond what should be the dignified end of his career.

I understand that, like being dead, you are long time retired as a player, but there is a time to exit stage left. Leckie has had a fine career but his constant injuries over the past two years are sending a clear message.

Last season he played in 7 A-L games and 1 ACL game. Total of 402 minutes for the year. The season before that he had 730 total minutes.
Hope he's overcome those injury issues and gets to finish his career on a positive note, but this is a bit of a risky signing.
