Maybe im just overly optimistic but I still hold out hope that there’s still enough latent potential there for there to be some kind of a revival. Maybe they wont be the strongest club in the aus championship but we’ve seen clubs who seem dead and buried before have a renaissance…
Are any of the Hellas fans who attended that Olympic v Hellas pre season game at kogarah forum members? You saw that crowd too right, I didn’t just imagine it, that was genuinely good that day. These people don’t just evaporate in 2 years. Are they the most loyal fans in the world, you could argue not, but i hold our hope for them that there’s still something there. Again, maybe I’m overly optimistic
 
South with a massive 2-1 win away to league leaders Oakleigh. One of our best performance of the season. New signings have made a significant impact. Disappointed to concede so late, but just glad to get the 3 points. The team is starting to regain its form and momentum. That’s 3 wins and a draw over the last 4 matches We now move to fifth and 4 points clear of George Cross in seventh spot.

We need to keep winning to put pressure on clubs above us. Everyone is playing each other in the top 7 spots, so it will be massive finish to the season. Third spot is in play, but will need some favourable results to go our way as well.

I think 2nd spot is potentially available. Home losing 3 games in a row, with a tough draw ahead of themselves.

And I suspect Preston will lose the 3 suspended points

You know what, just because they're a traditional club doesn't give anyone a divine right to stay up or be entitled to anything. They're a fucking shitshow of a football club on & off the field & if they go down then it's all on them. Other clubs with less "cachet" let's say have thrived because the admin staff, boards, players & volunteers understand the big picture.

Manly with that great big stand & pitch, Sutho with new facilities & an imbued sense of purposes, Apia going corporate, Rockdale sucking up to all levels of government & let's not forget Marconi, who did go down, who did look into the abyss of extinction & clawed their way back with pure loyalty from all. Who with a sense of pride & purpose knew that's not where they should be. And look how successful they've been since they came back. It's not all about money but something that transcends that to be a successful football club.

Olympic need to look st themselves, who do they want to be? What is the bigger picture? What are your facilities? What relationships do you have with government? Thry need to go down & be wiped out & to wipe out the sense of entitlement & ask yourself is the infighting worth it ? Do you want to end up in NPL3 ? Because the trajectory they're on that's where they're heading. And chucking money at mercenaries won't do shit ( hello Bonnyrigg ).

Fuck Olympic. Prove to us all you're a real football club.

Well said ....... from a South Melbourne perspective, what has happened there is all on them
 
Fwiw I agree they’re not in a good situation and that it’s on them. I don’t believe they have a divine right to anything. I’m just saying that I still feel there is still enough there in terms of raw ingredients for some kind of a turn around to be possible in the future. Real work to be done, but I’m not prepared to write them off completely as a club yet personally.

EZ very well said I agree - we have all watched the SO shitshow for years And Glenardo IMO getting demoted is the perfect outcome for them looking at themselves to either put up or shut up !
They either get the shit together, work getting back up and make new history for the past is the past.

They've improved their squad drastically since the window and I think they'll finish ahead of St George FC. Apart from results on the pitch, which they haven't had this season, what do they have? Women, boys and girls play at the Crest. Men at Belmore which is a construction site. Nothing is theirs and they don't have a permanent home. Kids train all over the place in the inner west. At least St George FC got Barton Park and control of two fields. What's the long term plan at Olympic?

Was never debating any of that gentleman. Just not prepared to write them off as a clinically dead club. Maybe they’re on life support, but imo there’s still a pulse. Their season is maybe another matter, at the very least they’re going into a relegation play off
