Green & Gold FC podcast

Actually I don't smirk!

I smirk with other things you bring to the table - in a good way! You make me laugh!

I've assumed you smirk when joyfully telling me I have little knowledge of UEFA club football. You are correct, I don't, apart from Serie A and Scotland. If I could get if for free without a VPN ( many have probs), I would.

I 've also missed your recent outstanding detailed recounts of salient issues in the G and G Podcasts. My back is too bad for sustained ironing ATM! Was that a temporary LFC Podcast zenith for quality recounts?
Glad I bring a smile rephrased instead of smirk.
Your lacking or more so refusing to pay to view the bigger picture of the game keeps you behind the 8 ball and it’s evident in your appraisals of the game on some topics.
I’m led to believe you get cheap VPN to cover all leagues been addressed in here by Sutho and TSF actually fyi.

I’ll look into some Pod input post Cup for there has been so much said to date not easy keeping up and I’ve been OS for 2wks.
Good you having a break from ironing it is a unhealthy task glad I never do it :)

You've definitely made me aware I'm behind the game because I don't pay for UEFA corporate club football. I know I am out of the UEFA loop.

Hence, the WC is more interesting for catching up on the many good teams/players I don't see. I'm far more interested in international teams than club teams.

One of the absolute strengths of the G and G Podcast, is the greater knowledge I've acquired from so many eminent guests/speakers. I know a bit about performance, but these Pods have been great for me acquiring new knowledge in many other aspects of football. I was barely aware of Podcasts before G and G started them. Im surprised I haven't seen more posters express the same?

On the G and G Podcasts we have had some really big names in world football, but most posters don't seem to realise? Tom Byers, and Stefan S, who co-writes with Simon Kuper, are huge names globally in football.

One of the problems with VPNs, is that I know people who've had them, and then can't subscribe to their Aus based streaming services because of the VPN.

In response to the plethora of Eurosnobs in Aus, I am an Aussiesnob or Asiasnob!

all good hence where you get pulled up.

Well the majority of Club players in EU/Big 5 leagues make up great portion % of the NT teams you view for free SBS :)......
R32 50%
R16 56%
Qrtrs 79%
SF 91%
F 88%
So that answers your Club/NT perspective.
I posted in the General WC thread a very good overall Reuters WC breakdown link, you'll salivate over the stats Professor.

I suppose many posters are shy to comment, shrug shoulders.

noted I know.

tech challenge at ol age is understandable - hence why I pay with no issue whatsoever whereas you miss out.

I question why people have the need to "label" - what does it matter, cover everything your more informed the way I see it.

Interesting stats on correlation to Big Five in UEFA regarding WC progression, LFC. Informative post! You are on fire in recent performance!

Not sure what you've been smoking lately, but you risk becoming one of G and G's most respected and erudite football posters! You've managed to hide your knowledge of many things football for years! Grazor might have to have you as a guest on the Pod!

Last point - if more of Aus’s Eurosnobs were engaged with Aus football, the state of the domestic game would in all probability be a lot stronger.

Interesting conversation about keeping up with European football etc. Can I suggest that the real problem is *bleeping* streaming, narrowcasting and the ultra-commodification of football?! I do pay for different stuff but I swear I got a much a more balanced and exotic football diet 25 years ago from a little pay TV and free to air than I can get now.

Maybe debating with someone who is not routinely watching the EPL, Champions League or La Liga is frustrating, but have you ever tried to have a broader conversation with someone who ONLY consumes European football? *makes gun to temple gesture*

Everything used to be on Fox. Can't remember if Fox had UEFA Champ league too?

I watched Serie A, Scotland, Champ, EPL, League 1, Spanish club football as well as AL, all on Fox.

Boom ! in red, reverse it with people who are Asian/Aussie snobs (eg only) and new dawners v NSL/NPL on the other hand and the plight our game is in locally.
Agree its like putting a gun to the temple pull trigger.
WHY I posted earlier "labelling" even though you like/luv the same subject/passion - your a doush because you don't follow the closed comp much if at all for some.
One of this countries challenging identity crisis that keeps on giving to this day football wise.

Why not let people watch whatever it is they want to watch? Its all football guys.

The good thing about football streaming is if you're overseas footballing tastes aren't geared towards European football you have plenty of other choices.

There's various South American club competitions available on BeIN Sports Connect and Fanatiz.

Theres the Asian club football available on Stan and Paramount Plus.

And there's MLS on Apple tv.

African continental club football on BeIN too.

You don't have to watch or engage with the EPL or European stuff, there's all sorts of football content to watch or follow. I mean no one is holding a remote to your head forcing you to tune into European football week in and week out. If mainstream screens feel oversaturated, the beauty of modern streaming is how easy it is to tune out the noise and completely curate your own football diet.
