NPL 2026

If the main grandstand at Olympic Village was knocked over and replaced with a 2,500 seated grandstand with new change rooms and corporate facilities (like the main grandstand at Lakeside Stadium), then it becomes a pretty good facility. But in its current state, it looks tired and dilapidated.
A proper pyramid league system would see investment from local and state governments into making those types of changes, as a team like Heidelberg moved up the system and attracted larger crowds.

Pretty sure I heard a while back that Heidelberg had in the back of their head the idea of making the grandstand fully seated at some point

it's always the aussie clubs, they all do that in a heartbeat. do you think the others (wog clubs) would submit paperwork, look through footage, for some player that played 2min, which seemed like an honest mistake. lol

Inside the most ambitious club in australia they say :ROFLMAO:
The airport closes at eleven, if you don't like Australia and its clubs.

I only like my club, fuck every other club.
Genuine question, does this also apply to Melbourne knights? What’s the dynamic of the “sister club” relationship during competitive fixtures as rare as they are these days. Also, a bit off topic, I’m sure it’s been answered before but I can’t remember exactly. Re Sydney United’s recent post honouring the 06’ NSW premier league grand final win at Marconi, what was the reason SWF ceased to exist and SUS took their place again? Seemed from the outside like it was a lot of the same people

If the two played each other in a competitive game, there's only one club. I respect all the croatian clubs around Australia and follow there scores / progress but there is only one Sydney Croatia.

SWF had a massive fall out with the board back around 2007 which resulted in a blanket ban on all the group, so rest of the season was boycotted. There is a lot of cross over between SWF & SUS who started officially in 2009

When Heidelberg first put seats in back in the nsl days the grandstand was fully seated, from memory they were green coloured and it was about 3,000. After they left the nsl they got rid of them (many were broken) and replaced them with 1,000 black ones.

The problem was never the seating, it was the distance from the pitch and the lack of elevation. If the pitch is far for whatever reason (athletics track) the stand needs to be elevated at least.

The old running track was horrible. Even that was run down

If you actually believe that, then you need help.
My mental health isn't on trial here, thank you very much! That's scheduled for next Thursday. Local councils love having their area on the national stage, and if they can be seen spruiking their region on anything with a few eyeballs, they'll happily part with a few million in rate payer funds.

And seriously, what in fucks name will you get for a few million, a new toilet block?

Aussies are the convicts you thick fuck.

Convicts are one of the types of Aussies. The post WW2 European migrants who set up football clubs are another type.

$8.5M (admittedly more than “a few million”) gets you something pretty nice like this: https://www.austadiums.com/stadiums/woy-woy-oval/photos

I reckon that’d be a good starting point for a small stadium, and then fill in the rest with some more straightforward bleachers.
