Haha ok! Patrick Beach wouldn’t have been on very high wages surely? Even though he is going from one City Group team to another, Melbourne City should still get some decent coin no?

Haha, that is interesting. Sorry, my brain didn't make that connection. Can't blame me for not thinking of memberships when "Sold out" and "package" is used in a sentence about MC. Probably why @Kitwally asked "who was that?"

City strengthens goalkeeping ranks with experienced addition

Melbourne City FC has strengthened its goalkeeping stocks ahead of the 2026/27 season, securing the signing of experienced goalkeeper Macklin Freke on a two-year deal.

Macklin Freke is moving to Melbourne City to bolster their keeper stocks as a replacement for Patrick Beach and will be under contract at the side for the next two seasons through the end of A-League Men season 2027-28.
 
Followed City for over 15 years now (albeit less and less since 2022, don’t care much anymore) struggle to remember a more stupid signing than this.

Makes sense. Has AL experience but won’t block Nieuwenhuizen’s development either. Similar to when City signed Jamie Young
