Fantasy is fantasy - can’t see the enjoyment nor point of effort.

Amazed the tipping comp - when you see tipped 64 of 104 games for eg.
This is like playing off the stick in golf or scratch - unlike playing best ball in a group of 4 - bit like fantasy to me.

Page 1 was pretty close actually - I haven't looked at page 2 all tournament haha who are they :)

As a second pager (although at the top of the second page!) I would like to make an observation.

The problem I find with a football tipping competition such as this is that once the leaders open up a decent lead its pretty difficult to bridge that gap and if you are on the second page you lose interest pretty quickly.

The only tipping competition I have been in where that was not the case involved tipping the actual score as well as the result. 3 points for a correct score and 1 point for a correct result. It allowed the opportunity to make up ground if you managed to jag a few correct scores!

putting aside the bants you do make some good points V.
I think the KISS principle comes into it who was managing the comp.

Yes - I am not sure how easy it would be to program it into a web page.

Yeah that doesn't seem to be an option unfortunately. The only option I see is different points for tipping the home or away team, which is a bit pointless. I was even thinking of double points for the knockout rounds, but not an option. It's just straight tipping ✅

You didn't give up that much of a lead and ended up finishing just the one correct prediction behind the tie for first place but having said that the World Cup produced many unexpected results which led to the tipping comp being a closely contested affair throughout.
