This was something done by one of the core regulars at the old forum, and I thought I'd try and bring over the idea to here. I'm trying to see if anyone would be interested. I've adjusted it a bit to make it a bit simpler and easier to manage.

How it works

Each player gets a budget of 100m to bid on players
Each team must have 5 players and 1 sub (6 in total). You can sub in a player at any point before the next match week.
Each team must also have a goalkeeper
There will be a February transfer window
You bid on the forum
The minimum starting bid is 5m
You can increase a bid as much as you want, but the minimum is 250k
Bidding for a player will stay open until there hasn't been a bid on a player for 12 hours
Each team selects a captain. Captains earn double points

Thoughts on this: Players can use remaining budget or points to transfer players between teams.

Points

You get points based on how your players perform in each match
Goalkeeper: 3 for a clean sheet
Defenders: 5 for a goal, 3 for an assist, 2 for a clean sheet,
Midfielders: 3 for a goal, 2 for an assist
Forwards: 2 for an assist, 1 for a goal
All players will receive: -1 for a yellow card, -2 for two yellow cards, -3 for a straight red card, -1 for an own goal

I was thinking that for the first iteration of this, maybe would need 10 people to make it work. If we get more interest, then that would be ok too. Too many may dilute the playing pool available.

I'd be interested in taking part and I think it'd be a good idea for players to be able to use their remaining budget to transfer players between participating teams.
 
I have a lot of fantasy Leagues already that I really wouldn't be able to dedicate the time to another. I also lose interest in the official EPL fantasy around February.

I lost interest in the official Premier League fantasy comp during the latter stages of the season and just left my team as is with Erling Haaland as captain but to be fair I was dedicating my time towards the A-League Men and Dub fantasy comps we had amongst forumites in addition to the A-League Women tipping that I was running concurrently.

Yeah, that's why the idea behind this is that you don't have to do anything on a weekly/game day basis. Once you buy/pick your team, it's done. Then you just sit back and let the points play themselves out depending on the players you have. You don't make weekly changes or anything like that.

I thought about starting it to see interest, and then could see if we can offer prizes for winners and such. In saying that, doesn't look like any interest, so probably a non-starter.

I would still be interested in taking part though but there's no point in setting it up if other forumites aren't interested.
 
I haven’t read the rules regs having been OS for couple of weeks but I did notice glancing through comment was it was easy for that suits me :)
In hoping more join in to make it worthwhile Thanks Zim.
 
I was thinking more about it and I reckon switching to A-league might be a good idea. After all, we are an aussie football forum.

If there is enough interest in an EPL or Champions League one even, then I am happy to do that.

I can move this thread to A-League if you like? Might get more eyeballs there.
