Australian transfers 26-27 Summer

I don't remember him standing out last season. Is he any good? or does he have potential to be having a good career overseas any time soon? I'm referring to Akon here
He had a cracking game against Western Sydney in the derby and had his moments in other games but was not a stand out.

He only turned 17 just before the final against Auckland, so he has big potential. We will see what he can do overseas if he goes. I would like to see him stay in the A-League another season.

Wow AA with more to follow just like that! MLS is fine provided you play and post WC there should be something of a familiarity of games on American soil with a decent standard.

It's hard to describe but MLS still feels like a usual fantasy league but it's become established with many good players.
I think the MLS is about to blow up after the WC. There will be much greater local interest, investment, higher salaries and improvement in imported players.

Any Aussies regularly starting will be doing well. It will be a better league than Scotland, Denmark etc. Now is a good time for young Aussies to make a name form themselves in the league and grow along with it.

I’ve actually been surprised at the difficulty some of our players have had breaking in , eg Girdwood Reich, Brook. Shows it’s not a Mickey Mouse league.

Arthur Diles has been appointed as Cong An Ho Chi Minh City head coach ahead of V.League 1 season 2026-27 getting underway, taking on his first role at the helm of an overseas side after being given the sack by Melbourne Victory at the end of this past season.

One of the G&G pods is with a British scout who singled Akon out as someone who stands out from the AL. Well worth the listen if you like that stuff.

MLS seems a good pathway to Europe if you perform. Gotta say I detest that they buy our guys for peanuts and are looking to make the profit. The middle man. The AL should be capitilising on our players not some Yank club.

Beach to Troyes rumour

Makes sense, they're part of City Football Group and appear to have sold their starting goalkeeper. That would be a decent enough move I think?

Luka Jovanovic to San Jose Earthquakes is a done deal, with the club acquiring him from Adelaide United for a seven-figure transfer fee. He'll be under contract at the side through season 2027-28 with option for 2028-29 and will be occupying a U22 Initiative playing list spot.

Thanks for the feedback.

That's way too early to go overseas.

Hopefully he stays and gets some great game time at Sydney and establish himself for another season or two before going over.

Just looked them up. He will struggle for game time i think.

They are sitting on top of the ladder and have scored the most amount of goals.

Unless one of their strikers is leaving i think he may struggle

Dear god we have a lot of players to follow.

Previously the most players we had overseas was at the death of the NSL around 00-05, but id say we have even more now. And a lot of young ones too!

Surely, like the GG, that will filter through to some of them making it into top leagues/clubs. I geniunely feel that at the next world cup we'll field a team like the GG of a team entirely from the top 5 leagues or CL clubs in tier B leagues (eg Feyenoord, Celtic, Basel, Club Brugge, Porto, Olympiakos, Fenerbahce, RB Salzburg).

That's two more Socceroos at top 5 league clubs. Patrick Beach and Paul Okon-Engstler.

The massive movement of young players is so exciting, especially just being able to be excited for the AA match-days each week, its means a lot more now than it has for many years. Really cool to see a lot of U18 players also moving to bigger clubs with a chance to progress.

I think we will head into the Asian Cup with a lot more pedigree than we had 12 months ago and head into qualification with even more and finally, peaking at the 2030 World Cup.
