Big Ange thread

Disappointing that he is going to Saudi Arabia. Will be interesting to see how he goes with coaching Ronaldo.

You don't coach Ronaldo....

He has repeatedly demonstrated that he operates on his own level with a clear personal vision for his training, recovery, and performance....

And he carries that weight of being the face of football clubs and his national team like one of us carries a Woolies bag. He has thrived under managers who gave him that significant autonomy (e.g., Sir Alex Ferguson early on, or Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid).

It's probably a little bit simplistic to say he's "incoachable" but Ronaldo is wired differently. He's not the type to sit quietly and absorb coaching or tactics like a sponge.

In short, Ronaldo doesn’t need traditional coaching to improve his fundamentals anymore. What he requires is a high-level environment that channels his unparalleled drive, ambition, and professionalism. Those who understand this have gotten the best out of him. Those who don’t usually don’t last long in his orbit.

Isnt every single other national team a "literal" rival?
Not really. If he coaches Japan though it would mean he’d have a big chance of having to play against us in an Asian Cup and World Cup qualifiers. I would be genuinely shit-scared of a Samurai Blue side playing super attacking football against a super defensive Socceroos side.

If he went and coached a country we’d hardly ever play in except at a World Cup however, it’s much less controversial, especially if that side aren’t as good as us. The Samurai Blue are clearly better than us, even their B-team would probably beat us at the moment.

He’s pretty outspoken so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he wins something, resigns, then hammers Saudi with criticism and completely exposes them.

He better make sure he’s out of the country when he does that.

He’s going to have to play nicey-nicey with the media whilst he’s there though which will be new for him.

Oh yeah for sure. He won’t directly praise the Saudis but he won’t shit on them till he leaves.

Are you his agent or his girlfriend?
