A-League transfer news/rumours

I don’t.

But I’m not going to begrudge him for leaving to play UEFA Champions League and win titles.

Especially as our owners care more about selling players than winning anything
I've got a lot of time for yaya and his family (known them for well over a decade and still have quite a good relationship with the dukuly's)

Yaya IMHO is one of the top 5 all time African prospects to have ever come out of Adelaide as a teenager, he had all the talent in the world - which is why city came in for him early (this was when city raided Adelaide constantly for the best teenagers because petrillo knew of them all)

It just hasn't "clicked" with him yet, which is what worries me, as yaya has all the other facets of the game off the pitch down pat (trains well, listens to coaches, savvy in front of the media etc)

Same goes for his younger brother sidiki who has had stints with both the AU and wanderers reserves side, but it didnt work out. Now he's at west adelaide in the SA npl

Yaya picked up basic french pretty quick when he was in france, but slovenian is a harder language to learn. He'll need to learn some basic sentences quickly if he wants to succeed over there

Slovenia is a great country and celje is a beautiful city, not a bad place to spend the next 2 years

German Ferreyra is headed to Western Sydney Wanderers after leaving Melbourne City and will be under contract at the side for the next three seasons through the end of A-League Men season 2028-29.

That’s a nice list of goalkeepers, not all of them are born on the central coast or even NSW born though.

You can debate it all you want but its not even close. like I said SA produces the best GK’s and they all come through one club…………………..

South Australian born In no particular order:, beltrame, bajic, margush, izzo, gauci, steve hall, cox, richards (transitioned into MMA), ochsenham, page

Interstate keepers that improved when they came to Adelaide: birighitti, cook, galekovic, delianov

That's really not the point - there are two elite GK managers as far as I'm concerned - one is Crawley and other Galekovic. how many of your SA ones were under Galekovic. Obviously Beach and Langerak weren't under Crawley but the other three were.

Melbourne City are being strange. They have announced lots of departures but few, if any, arrivals. They are one of the least communicative clubs in the AL but even for them this is strange. And they have not updated their web page either.

I remember they had signed him during the last few games, started out rocky, but was a really good CB for us.

Honestly they don't care about having fans. They have probably a intern doing social media a lovely guy in membership but I don't think anyone else cares.

It's sad but true. Even moving to Casey has been all about convenience, no discernible effort is being made to connect with the region, no interest in building a proper home out there with a stadium.... they just motor along developing talent. Whilst this is fantastic for the Aus national teams long term, it's pretty sad for the league.

Luka Jovanovic has completed his transfer from Adelaide United to San Jose Earthquakes, moving to the MLS side for a seven-figure transfer fee on a deal running through the end of season 2027-28 with option for 2028-29.

Hopefully it’s on the higher end of seven figures.

Its not, there is a sell on clause inserted though.

AU were hoping to get around $1.5-2 million up front as there were several interested clubs at one point (the dutch and belgians decided to look elsewhere and i dont believe the saudi interest was concrete).

with 1 year left on his deal AU had to accept an offer. Good window for the club so far with roughly 1.5 mill in the coffers from the sale of 2 players. I know the fans wont like that, but it is the AU motto - develope then sell.

its now a question of if AU can keep a hold of kikianis (inparticular) yull and alagich this pre season
