Yeah that was an oversight on their end to have back to back cup games in three days but don’t they influence the date of the R32 tie?

It's the first time Beograd (Serbian backed club) have ever played an Albanian backed club. Just because it's in Adelaide, doesn't mean the animosity is any less then it would be, if the match was in Melbourne or Sydney.

I'd also imagine that away section will be quite packed, given it will likely be topped up by the South Australian Albanian community.

It has all the ingredients to make national headlines for the wrong reasons

Imagine trying to build this up as a "dangerous" match.
Storm in a teacup, and it's no wonder most fans in Adelaide prefer to watch United in the A League. Albanian clubs long history of misbhaviour in SASL will not have won them many fans.

North Sunshine Eagles ran out 3-2 winners over FK Beograd and Brunswick Juventus got the job done 4-0 over Marlin Coast Rangers to get their campaigns in the Hahn Australia Cup competition proper underway, also becoming the next two sides to advance to the round of 16.

The lack of care the Adelaide public have for anything other than Adelaide United really shows in these national competitions.

Its not like AU actually ever win anything outside this tournament either.
 
Beograd were poor last night, currently sitting 4th in SA NPL i thought they would easily beat a team coming 2nd last in VPL 2 in Victoria.

many players out or?

i think they'll have some regrets about fielding such a strong team in the fed cup final on saturday, players should've been rested - they werent and they ended up playing 120 minsand then had to back up a few days later.

no complaints with the loss, siptars looked sharper and played the better football

as i said, it had the makings of being a dangerous match for the sport as a whole in terms of what could've happened. Nothing did and thats that

and you are right the albanian's in SA when it comes to football have made a name for themselves for the wrong reasons, they've been thrown out the amature leagues 2-3 times and when there players have gone to other clubs they tend to get sent off for fighting or bad tackles.

even last night there were elements at the ground that could've seen it become dangerous.

*the players celebrating the victory in front of the home end, i fully get given the emotion of a big win - but so so stupid, as you saw with the melee at the end.
*albanians chanting - again fans are entilted to chant, but ethnic chants against a serbian backed side at there own ground? very risky.
* supporters going wild when scoring, nothing wrong with that but shaking security hoardings and inparticular climbing fencing 20 foot fencing? all it would've taken was for an over zealous security guard or official to yank them down and kick them out the match for a huge brawl to start

i know there were incidents on the albanians march to the actual ground, reports of multiple flares & bins being knocked over (not major). Again nothing major

i think thats a fair statement to make, AU are the only football team SA cares about.

consistenly finishing in the top 4 year after year and always 'challenging' for the title, whilst bringing through players that year upon year go to play in europe and represent all the australian national sides at all age groups

SA NPL does not attract big crowds
 
A 1,600 crowd at Frank Mitchell suggests that more in Adelaide care about minor ethnic local football than in many other places.
