I genuinely have no idea why he was signed. There has to be better players out there.

In all seriousness though, no. We get to watch the stars develop. Then we also get the ones who’re retiring plus marquees who’re retiring.

The J-League does this too by the way. I haven’t heard any Japanese complain about the J-League being boring, nor have I heard them criticise their elite player development that often happens in Europe. That being said I don’t speak Japanese.

A-League clearly has the younger players on the up who switch to Europe seamlessly. There are also a sprinkling of other players from Europe, some who could still make it in Europe if that's what they wanted. A-League is not sub-Europe mate just because it's not part of the big four.

Ok let's talk about this.

So my idea is young players who are going to be socceroos we want to see in Europe reaching their potential.

But with respect guys like dukuly might not be a socceroo maybe he will but we need guys like him in the a league he can't just be a youth league. It's it's just a league for guys to play well and leave it's not a competitive league it's a school there's no reason to follow the teams.

I want guys who care about the club like Jamieson as a example for us

A strange phenomenon, but the best can demand higher compensation and certain leagues have more access to funds than others, concentrating those that are desired into those leagues.
The A league doesn't have anywhere near access to funds like other leagues, let alone leagues in Asia. If you want this to increase, convince other people to attend and the increase of popularity will increase gate intake, as well as attractiveness to sponsors.

TLDR: players like to be paid more.

Yeah true, I guess it's recognition of the clubs ability to develop players and brings in extra income. Then it's fun to follow them overseas and see how they do and watch the next hopeful brightspark whith the whole process starting again.
It is what it is and unless there's a lot more money coming into the league, we will always be a predominant selling league.
It's great when they come back like Behich who has been very good for us.
