An Australian woman is facing up to five years in jail if found guilty of accusations she illegally voted in two US elections.

Denise Nataly Migliore, 51, was arrested on July 1 but her case didn’t hit the headlines until this week when the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) put out a press release claiming credit for the investigation.

It was brutal and unjust and as always winners and losers. Yet look at Iraq today. It is immensely better than it was and alternate history offers mixed experiences otherwise. As the German phrase goes German saying, "Better a horrifying ending than a horror without end". Iraq was a totalitarian state yet the conflict takes nothing away from those who suffered from it just like those in Berlin in 1945. The regime needed to come to an end to give the people a chance, just a chance of improving things.

As for Venezuela, wasn't the USA supposed to be in total control of that county now and drive it into the ground? Oh no, none of that happened. The international response to the earthquake has been immense the the USA has sent 900 soldiers to assist. Imagine that, 900 US soldiers in Venezuela. Under the previous leader, impossible.

If any large power attacks someone's country, you can guarantee they will beg the USA for help. Anyone who says no is a liar. Every time someone is bullied it's 'America, help us!' The countries America are bombing are basket cases that have been too hell bent on killing their own people, funding terror and wreaking havoc in the region. The neighbours of those places have requested foreign support.
 


The UK for their E-gates up and running efficiently. The EU has no right to point the finger at anyone when their own system has been an unmitigated disaster.

It’s very disingenuous for The Guardian to call Delcy Rodríguez a US-backed leader. She’s from the same communist party as Nicolás Maduro.

Either way, Venezuela is fucked and both their own government and the US are at fault. The US cares more about Venezuelan oil than defending democracy which is why even with Maduro gone his policies remain in place and the Venezuelan people continue to suffer. The economy is completely fucked over there, inflation still sits at 524.5% and continues to go up (it’s gone up 6.3% over the last month).

It's a dynamic situation but those who moan about one government harming their people and calling for change refuse to acknowledge the people won't and can't effect change and the unfortunate best option is outside force.

The Guardian would be sweating here as they wouldn't want any US involvement to work. Venezuela has so much work to do but releasing the oil should boost its own economy despite US influence. It needs to be remembered how Venezuela was before the stupid direction they went in.
