The Western United Thread

Like a punch drink fighter who is on the canvas & his mates refusing to throw in the white towel & preferring to watch him get the shit knocked out of him.

So ate the APL in regards to this cute little logo on the A League site.

Say "we will take the highest bidder"
Isn't that what they used to do and it failed (see Macarthur and Western United)? Now they hand pick more sustainable areas like Auckland (but the club still has to work hard to make it a success).

I'm for a planned approach, top down AND bottom up. Expand into the next four strongest areas, then connect it all with pro/rel. If after that any billionaire wants a team in Coober Pedy then we can discuss how they enter the pyramid.

His father was a good man. He though is an idiot. Was so delusional over his sons ability.

He pretty much highlights why greek aussies are by far the worst of the diaspora. He could get the license and bring us back to the top flight and do something his father would be proud of. Instead we get this.
I still remember the Royal Cola soft drinks at receptions and family bbqs....

Not sure if this is good or bad news for Tassie's A-League dream. FFA were ready to award Stamoulis' Tassie bid a licence in 2018 but Foxtel said no. They had state and federal support for converting North Hobart Oval into a pitch.

One on hand we might be losing Tassie's best bidder to a semi wasteland that is WU. On the other hand, Stamoulis might be using this as a way in to finally move a licence to Tasmania. Interesting times. If it means a converted NHO for our sport, I'm all for it.
“Foxtel said no”. Can Tasmania sue Foxtel?

Yeah it failed in one sense, but they got the money. Have an auction every year and just accept that some wont fly (some mls franchises didnt and disappeared)
