FIFA WC 26 - Other Nations LIVE Match Thread ⚽

Only one who comes close is Argentina & even then there is a gap on a player by player individual level.

It's an interesting thought bubble as an opposing coach as to how you play against them. Sweden have had a few goes & shots at them.
Yes Argies have one great player, the French team has 4-5 great players, they are way above on an individual level, especially their front 4.

Just amazing players.

Haven't watched as much of this tournament as some (actually relied on the highlights they show on Cup Fever for a few of the match updates) but from what I've seen, France look the most dominant and Argentina look the most inevitable. Would be nice for a shake-up from a worthy contender in the final, but who is that worthy contender?

It's not too late, all the games are up on SBS.

I'm hoping Ecuador can pull off an upset here. I think they are on the whole a more exciting group of players, but are they the better team?

Mexico at home.... they really could go far this world cup. At home they are going to be nigh unbeatable. Look at this atmosphere man...

Mexico and the USA I think are making the quarter finals at the very least. But would not surprise me to see one if not both of them in the semis.

I have no real interest in visiting Mexico City. From all reports it is a polluted, crime-ridden dump.

But I'd love to be there tonight. The bars- the whole city- will be going off. I'd love to be part of it. I pity the dogs, with all the fireworks going off into the early hours.

TBH I think a lot of big teams are gonna get knocked on their face by the underdogs this tournament in the knockouts.

The big reason for me is the increased rest between games. The top nations before.... world class players in every position, world class players off the bench. While lesser nations who have to rely on their top players starting and putting in full shifts with limited options off the bench, it tires them out. They run out of puff and these nations fall off as the tournament progresses and with only a few days between matches.

Here though? The increased rest gives these squads time to fully recover between games and allows their best players time to get fully rested and ready for the next battle.
