Massive growth! It’s a shame Aussies in the NWSL have kinda flopped in recent years. The NWSL is cool to watch, more competitive than the WSL even though it’s lower quality now (though the shit NWSL teams are still probably better than the shit WSL teams for now).

This would be good to level the NWSL with the Euro leagues (minus pro/rel which they still don’t have in the US despite having multiple functioning “divisions”). America’s falling behind the Euro leagues since money’s catching up in the women’s game. The NWSL used to be the best league in the world.
 
I have never heard someone not American use the term “regular season goals”. I get what it means but seriously!

Well, the NWSL is American. The term could be used here in contexts where finals aren’t counted. I assume it also wouldn’t count cups either. For example, Holly McNamara scored 14 A-League goals and four Champions League goals this season, accounting for 18 in total. However, only 12 were in the regular season, as two were in the finals (specifically in the grand final).

Either way she’s still only two off Lynn Williams. One hat-trick and she’s over the line. She scored 17 goals in all comps for Chelsea last season even though she clearly wasn’t their best player. The NWSL is weaker than the WSL (the midtable and bottom teams would be similar but Chelsea are clearly better than Gotham) these days so she could score even more than that (mind you she’s entering midseason though).
