Socceroos vs Egypt - 2026 World Cup R32 - Sat 4th of July 4am AEST

Just watched both highlights and we were a foot away from facing Iran again. That as very tense. I'll take Egypt and now we can plan. They're decent but we're also in the ascendency.

Might as well be playing an EPL team. (Egyptian Premier League)

Defensive strategies from Poppa coupled with frustration at not being able to breakdown the line, should see at least a red probably two as Egyptian PL are not known for their patience and understanding at the best of times.

I would have liked one of the Australian defenders to be playing in South America, picking up the dark arts to use in this upcoming game, where I think it will be needed.
 
Iran and their shithousery. They're so plucky at creating chances which simply come from getting the ball down there. We need to do the same as anything can happen.
 
We've faced Egypt at Olympics and youth world cups. I reckon there are a few from the Tokyo squad here. We underestimate them but they have their own shithousery. The good news is we're used to this kind of stuff from Asia.
 
I'd rather face Egypt than Belgium, but Egypt is going to be very tough, and Mo Saleh is world class striker, when he was playing for Liverpool in the EPL, he was scoring goals for fun.

Mo Salah is an old hasbeen who'll be living in Circati's pocket, if he makes it onto the field at all.
