Socceroos vs Paraguay 2026 World Cup match thread 🇦🇺🇵🇾

Man, I just rewatched the second half against the US and Italiano was excellent. Big loss when we are trying to play more possession based.

He's a great attacking wingback and I'm guessing could do the full back role but he's had two big shifts in these games sucks he got injured.

The South Korea game has worried me a bit we gotta get a result tomorrow at least a point.
Checking my phone was horrible when I woke up as I briefly checked and saw Scotland were 1:0 down and felt there'd been some miracle they'd come back. Then scrolling to South Korea and seeing they'd lost my heart sank.

2 pieces of misfortune. Qatar were apparently close to levelling before it blew out.

I'm feeling quite nervous about tomorrow's game!

For the first time , I'm hearing people discuss football everywhere - like my YPTH gym. It seems like with the Turkey win, there has been so much interest.

ABC and SBS are both giving a fair bit of coverage to the refugee/migrant members of the Roos. Iran and his sisters, plus tonight the articulate Geria and his equally articulate sisters featured on the ABC's 7.30 report. Geria's sisters were easy on the eye too!

I really hope we dont park the bus. Paraguay are ok but the Almiron suspension kills them on transition.

I've watched every team in this WC and even the likes of Curacao, NZ etc are having a crack. I cant do another Poppa park the bus fest.

The whole country is watching tomorrow, lets play football!

This was excellent as always. The best tactical preview I've read or listened to so far. What front 3 would you go with. Your write-up made me more convinced we want Nestor wide testing their full back.
I'm actually torn between Metcalfe, Volpato, Irankunda and Metcalfe, Irankunda, Yengi. I like Yengi as a chaos option and to occupy the centre backs. But I would like to see Irankunda start.

Probably bed at 8:30pm. Skip Germany and Japan window. Full day of work after 4am kick off. Apples!

I'm pretty nervous about this going horribly wrong but I think we'll get a sniff and build confidence. If we go behind by 2 it's definitely kitchen sink time and a 2:1 loss would see us ahead of South Korea and Scotland I believe but it gets very tight then.

The Belgium and Uruguay group could see anything happen.

Boys looking cheerful and sharp. All the headlines take away a lot of the positive group mentality the players have. They're professional enough tk know they've got a job to do and while we're off doing our thing they're doing all the training and fitness to be ready.
