NPL 2026

Sydney Olympic v APIA Leichhardt (originally Saturday August 1st 5.00pm due to Sydney Olympic v Brisbane Roar on July 30th)
I have a great money saving idea for Olympic. Seeing as though they're finished in NPL1 they can see who is on a per game contract and not play them for the rest of the season and play some kids from the youth team instead.

My source at Olympic seems to think the Championship is going home and away in 2027 so they won't need the NPL spot. This current format was only supposed to be for the two years.

As much as I enjoy the Championship & as I've said previously if it's an invite only competition then it's pointless in the context of the broader Australian football ecosystem.

I get ya, except that even the A2 concept touted was going to be invite only... atleast this way it was an open invitation for all to see if they can fit the brief and be in the more the merrier no exclusions based on the biased bs paramaters set from APL!

If this is the closest thing we get to a 2nd tier for now ill take it, alternative is the wilderness and the APL status quo for good...that doesnt help anyone most of all football itself...
