FIFA WC 26 - Other Nations LIVE Match Thread ⚽

Holland could be a potential dark horse to win the whole thing if they play like the way they did against Sweden, Summerville looks to be their next big talent as well.

Turkey and Ecuador should be locked inside a stadium together and play and see who can actually score a goal because they are terrible in front of goal.

Tunisia are hands down the worst of the team of the World Cup, and shoutout to Curacao for getting their first point their keeper was immense.
Yeah agree. The Dutch are dripping with talent and know-how. Would love to see them take their first title after making the final 3 times, in 1974 and 1978 (both times losing to the hosts) and again in 2010. European Champions in 1988 with that stunning Van Basten goal. There's Ajax Amsterdam, 4 times European champs, there's the philosophy of "total football", and the "Cruyff turn". And all the other legends: Neeskens, Rijkaard, Gullit, Bergkamp, Koeman, Robben, van Persie. And another generation coming through like Summerville as you mentioned. Good luck to 'em

We're going to be playing Belgium in the R32, aren't we?
I'm a bit disappointed with Belgium. Poor old de Bruyner copped a battering. But their stars are ageing, and as you said in earlier post Iran were at times looking better than Belgium. So maybe I'd rather we face Belgium than Egypt if they're in their 2nd half v NZL form, the Egyptians I mean.

Belgium might get grouped again. Could that possibly lead them on the path of Denmark and Italy?
Every dog has his day:
"Belgium became a strong football nation in two distinct eras: initially in the 1980s, and more recently during the 2010s. The latter period, driven by a complete restructuring of their youth academies, produced the nation's "Golden Generation" and propelled them to become the #1 ranked team in the world by FIFA"

You’re forgetting some current.
One of the best modern CB’s last 10yrs mighty VVD !
He’s the backbone even though now over his prime.
Gravenberch is good MF.
Gapko has his up downs but pretty good and scored I think previous game.
Man city’s Reijnders another good box to box mid.
Juve Koopmier’s lethal left footer.

The ageing stars factor was why I predicted Croatia to flop. It’s hard to tell but they were soundly beaten by an England side with very poorly-chosen depth (e.g. no Cole Palmer).

Absolutely. They looked better on the ball than us, their passing sharp and accurate, and quick to get forward. I really really hope Popovic watched this match and then went and sat on the dunny and had a long think.
Come on, let's not overrate them to such an absurd degree. They were abysmal in the second half when Egypt started to play. They got absolutely steamrolled and overwhelmed. I very much hope Popovic isn't taking any lessons on ball control from NZ of all teams.
