A place for history discussion and content. Not as much for the political aspects who do overlap but more the appreciation for recording and learning from what has transpired in the past.

I know this isn't the book thread but I bought this a couple of months ago and I've not read it yet because it's over 1200 pages...

Daunting!

But the reviews for it were excellent and it has won numerous awards for history books such as The Times History Book of the Year, Best Book of the Year by The New Yorker and Best Non-fiction Book of the Year by Kirkus...

The interview with Dave Sabben is one of the most thorough and engaging I've heard.
 
On the anniversaries of things like this, we should be having public show trials of politicians and their lobbyists that get us into them.

Not just wars, but shitting on the country's future by privatising assets, pulling up rail networks, spending insane amounts on military, protecting certain organisations, the stupidly rich paying zero tax, letting other nations have land or bases or influence on our soil etc.

No one is held accountable for past corruption or terrible decisions. It's the same shit different day over and over again.
