Mathew Leckie is hamstrung and will most likely be ruled out of our last World Cup group stage match against Paraguay.
 
picking an injury prone leckie, a Vellupilay who is probably the 8th best winger in the a league and no back up specialist right wing backs don't look like decisions that will be justified in hindsight...
 
Totally stuffed up our squad picks and overreliances. The midfield isn't overheated yet. We should have picked a couple more versatile types like Silvera and Bennie.

If Jacob Italiano is ruled out for the remainder of our World Cup campaign then it doesn't bode well for the Socceroos heading into the knockout stage especially given our lack of depth at right wingback.

Even if Italiano was back, I'm not sure I'd be changing yesterday's combo to be honest. If one of those need replacing in game or for any potential Rd of 16, then we are in trouble.
 
JBos & Behich were the LWB. There did not appear to be any settled combination for the RWB. Shifting JBos to RWB means that there is no depth for the LWB. I will assume that Popa and the coaching team will do due diligence on the R32 opponent to use the most suitable available player - Geria or Trewin and then if need be JBos.
