I think they have severely fucked up the drainage.. We turned up for an Oceania game this year and they were trying to roll the water out of the pitch with brooms and it was just pooling everywhere.. terrible considering the money spent.
 
Any chance they quietly change the name of the venue with the passage of time..I get why it was named that initially but it’s clunky as, and the Matilda’s barely use it. I get it could be politically sensitive to do so but geez

The should rename it to the Preston Cemetery extension field.

Right behind the Preston Cemetery as I said. Rumour is, that that part of Latrobe Uni all the way to the creek was burial plots that were dug up to make way for the uni in the 60s.

Yeah agree... Im not one to side with Bergers but it does sound like they did everything they could to accommodate.. Also very telling that Preston just plain told all there fans they are barred from coming and then shut all comments on their statement.. I reckon its Preston board self worried about losing points?
 
Problem for Football Victoria is that it is very likely that Preston and Heidelberg will make the Dockerty Cup Final, which is to be played at The Home of the Matildas. That ground is probably the worst ground to hold this type of fixture as segregation is near impossible.

It wont be up to the clubs to provide security for a final though and Preston/Bergers women played a final there in 2024 without incident.

Cant really compare a womens game to a dockerty cup final.

The federation will go light on security as they dont give a shit, they're probably looking for an excuse to dock them both lol.

South Melbourne found themselves in a relegation battle last year and we still managed to stay up so there's no reason why we can't do the same again this season but ideally we want to be getting the job done against a Bentleigh Greens side inside the relegation zone.

And we have gotten it done...not in the best fashion but atleast it was effective despite some questionable choices in that lineup!

Over enthusiastic newly discovered 'mainstream' football supporters who want goals in their backyards now ths WC is on... they will give them back when it finishes!
 
It’s not often you walk away from a 5-1 win and feel very frustrated. Hellas should have won that match 10-0. That’s how bad Bentleigh Greens are. Yet we allowed them to dominate a good portion of the second half.

In the end, we got the win, helped reduce our negative goal difference and moved back into the top 6.

Those new player signings cannot come soon enough.
