In other words they shoulda called him up during qualification or waited till after the World Cup. Nice of him to let the others have a go though, hopefully his time comes. In a world where everyone is out for themselves this is refreshing

Ex-PSG & Celtic striker explains classy reason he refused chance to play at World Cup | Goal.com
Former Celtic star Odsonne Edouard has declined an invitation to represent Haiti at the 2026 World Cup out of respect for the qualifying squad.www.goal.com
Yeah they need to be clearer about what cap-ties a player and what doesn’t.These rules are an absolute farce, nearly as bad as the binary/ gender nonsense.
Was called up for Poland so makes sense.Julia Walentowicz has jumped ship from Sweden to Poland.
Maybe all along he just wanted to be the 69th player to switch in 2026! Welcome back Cris!!!Cristian Volpato has officially jumped ship to Football Australia from the Italian federation.
One of Emily Gielnik’s teammates at Monterrey.Miranda Solis has jumped ship to Costa Rica from Mexico.
Morocco are such a lazy team. Any kid of Moroccan heritage gets approached and stupidly permanently commits their future to them. Instead of potentially playing for the country their families voluntarily migrated to at the Euros they go and play for Morocco at AFCON where they can cheat their way to winning every year.Nassime El Harmouz has jumped ship from the Netherlands to Morocco.
I agree. Morocco has really gone hyper on this. Rafael van der Vaart said those who opt for Morocco aren't good enough for their European country. It's isn't true all the time but Morocco have gotten very comfortable letting Europe develop the players then claiming them as their own. Their new academy of football should help local talent.Morocco are such a lazy team. Any kid of Moroccan heritage gets approached and stupidly permanently commits their future to them. How about Morocco develops their own players to show Moroccan kids that they too can fulfil their dreams without needing to migrate to Europe? Morocco has so many talented Moroccan players and plenty of those with Moroccan heritage that just aren’t good enough for their home countries, so why rely on the promising talents that could play for their home countries?
Yeah it’s just a shame that millions of Moroccan kids growing up don’t have locally-produced role models to look up to. Maybe they don’t care that much given the diaspora are still culturally connected to Morocco and play for the Atlas Lions wearing the Moroccan jersey, but it gives out the message that if your family wasn’t rich enough to migrate to Europe that you’ll never be an Atlas Lion. That shouldn’t be the case, since other African countries like Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal send local talents over to Europe rather than purely being diaspora-focused.I agree.
