Paul Okon snr never got to play on the grandest stage in football. But his eldest son now has. His other boy, Gianluca, is bound for the big stage, too. Though it might not be for Australia.

Peter Gwargis made Graham Arnold's preliminary Iraq playing list but not the final 26-player squad and John Souttar might count but Football Australia never came into contact with him.
