Yeah I go back to the old 442 days. I spent two WC campaigns grumbling about our lack of ambition at a squad, supporter and media level and had low hopes leading into the Qatar WC. You could call me a revived believer since then. Feels like we're at a point where an Asian Confederation side is knocking on the door of making a final, and it might as well be us.

I think Japan are poised to join the big guns, their football is technically very high, just as always they can't score enough & they have no real genius.
 
Our impregnable defence against Turkiye was first class but the efforts of the Cabo Verde defence surpassed ours considering the opponent they were facing and their keeper ,like Beach, had a blinder.

Hopefully Graham Arnold will get his Iraq side well organised ahead of opening day of their World Cup campaign against Norway and they can take the lessons learnt from their draw against Spain but more so from the loss against Venezuela in their friendlies to try and get a result.
